New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
I'd say "Who made this damn rule?" and then I'd go out and buy two Guzzis and dare them to do something about it!
Until the road versions of the V85 come along - its an easy answer for me - a Breva 750 just like mine.
I would keep my 1200 8V Griso. The best bike since the Le Mans Mk I.
I didn't like the ones I have, and there was another that I lusted after and thought I would like better, I'd sell what I've got and buy it!
I reckon I've got all the bases covered, but for me the V7 Sport has a charm and style that even a Mk1 Le Mans cannot match.DSC_0910 by Derek Wardell, on Flickr

Oh come on, surely Piaggio can find a reliable Demand Sensor. 😀It certainly is possible for Piaggio to make an 1800 version of the Moto Guzzi V Twin. They just likely don’t have the stomach to do so. If BMW, H-D, Polaris Indian etc can make big v twins that pass current regulations certainly Piaggio could as well. Perhaps they see Moto Guzzi’s future relegated to 750 and 850 bikes. If that’s the case, then that’s what will happen. Making only midsize bikes seems to be working for Ural and Royal Enfield at this point.
It would have to be a completely new design from the ground up. There isn't enough size or volume, (Or probably strength!) in the *Old* crankcase for more crank throw and the crankcase pressurisation and venting issues would render it unfeasible. That's all. Any '1800' would have to be a clean sheet design.Pete
