FALL riding weather is coming soon...
« on: August 25, 2019, 04:38:42 PM »
...at least to northern AZ.  Took a 50-mile round trip jaunt to my buddy Mike's house in historic Clarkdale this morning on the ol' Yellow Horse.  Temperatures were in the mid-60's and COOL.  Lovely riding! :thumb:

We bled the brakes on both his R1150GS Beemer and my Centauro and filled them with fresh brake fluids.  Need to get brake pads next and replace the front fork seals.

All should be done BEFORE we ride to Lake Henshaw, CA in mid-October.

*sheesh* - it's darn near cold here today, only 95*.  Much of the past few weeks, SoCal has been seeing 100*+, with the beaches in the high 80s.

Nope, not fall weather anywhere near around here.

Well it's been fall here for a while now. It was 37° F this morning, the leaves are changing colors, and it doesn't really warm up until mid-afternoon. Of course that's because we're on "double daylight" time, so the best time to ride is after dinner!

My husband and I rode both days this weekend because the pre-noon temps were under 100!  However, it's aiming to hit 111 tomorrow.

Was only in the upper 70s for a high around here yesterday with very low humidity. Great riding weather.

Excellent, turn down the temps JJ's.  I've got a fishing trip at Lee's Ferry, AZ the end of September.

Prior to adding new brake pads remember to suck out a bit of brake fluid out of the master cylinder so when you push the pistons back there is room for the fluid in the reservoir. Then top the fluid up to the "full" mark.

Good advice and YES!!  Thanks for the reminder!

Fall weather....yes....

It'll doubtless be all the way down into the low 90's by Halloween here in Central Texas.

My favorite riding jacket the past couple months? Ford F150.

Despite temperatures STILL in the high-90's,...Mike, (Ducati ST2), me, (on the Yellow Horse), and our friend, Dwight on his lovely Indian Springfield managed to meet in historic downtown Cottonwood for a bite and beverage!!

Still no RAIN...and the "NON-SOON" this is starting to become very annoying...

It is called fall weather because it is the time of year that you fall when riding or walking on black ice.

I remember when I lived in Dallas, TX in the late 80-early 90's..."black ice" was a real problem occasionally on the freeways in winter time!
