Saw this on eBay from Scrambler Cycle...

Moto Guzzi 12mm Front Brake Master Cylinder Brembo 17660253 T3 Convert G5 LeMans

It's listed as a 12 mm replacement for the T/T3. Thought this would keep the stock look and still upgrade the brakes, as compared to the more modern looking 12mm REC Brembo listed on Bevel Heaven.

Anybody have experience with this one?

 Depends on how and what are you upgrading. Have not purchased the one from Scrambler Cycle , but , after installing a rebuild kit  on the original one on my SPNT ( same size  as the Scramble Cycle one) and running it for about a year, I installed a REC 13mm I had from  a past project and ended up liking it better , not just because it came with a dog leg lever as sold, but the feel is better IMO.  The other round one like the one from Scrambler is on my Tribute bike running double discs and it works like a charm on that bike. So, they both work. Unless yours is corroded internally or has a broken perch, a piston kit should suffice ( Guzzi content). For single disc applications, I like the REC better. Others my have a different opinion, YMMV

OK, thanks. This is for upgrading the stock 15mm unit on a T. I rebuilt it years ago, it was leaking, but the performance of the disc brake has always been less that stellar. So I thought the upgrade to the 12/13 mm unit might reduce the chance of near death experiences!

So the short answer is yes. It will work and reduce lever effort

As you might notice, the round reservoir master cylinder doesn't say Brembo on it anywhere. It's a reproduction of the Brembo master cylinder made by someone else, as far as I know.

My only direct experience was with one on a customer Le Mans. The fluid reservoir had leaked and brake fluid had bubbled the paint. Genuine Brembo was anodized not painted.

I have heard reports of paint being inside the bore of the master cylinder causing leaks as well.

If it were me, I'd buy the genuine Brembo master cylinder even though it has a rectangular reservoir.

Yes, the reservoir is smaller and holds less fluid, but that isn't really a problem IMO. It does have a sight window, so all one needs to do is make sure the fluid is between the upper and lower marks. No need to remove the lid to check the level.
