Guzzis in the paddock at Barber Vintage Fest.

And the #82 sidecar rig on the track.

They got 3rd place out of about 12 -- FAST sliding around the turn we were watching.     #82 is a husband and wife team.  We got to meet Celia, the monkey in the paddock, great chatting with her.

Didn't make the museum.  Really need to next year, as I understand they have expanded it quite a bit.  Didn't take the Griso, but rode

my "almost" vintage Kawasaki instead. Saturday was HOT, the fan on my bike was working overtime. Based on the traffic jams, I'd say they had a great turn-out. Had a great ride down from Tennessee on Saturday and back home Sunday morning. Everyone should go to Barber at least once.

You missed a few in the museum Jay. When I get back I'll try to add one or two. But I'm afraid we both missed some in the stacks.

Hmmm by your pics and my memory I'm thinking there's at least 16 maybe more.

There's a Bassa, Mille, V11 Sport LeMans, another scooter, and was there a Centuro or did I imagine that?

I'm getting ready to get my bikes back into working order(under orders from my son).
He wants to go somewhere and doesn't care where. I was wondering where to go and this thread came up.
Since he lives in N AL near Huntsville Barbers would be a great trip.
Btw, when I was there last they also had a blue SP II.

I haven't been to Barber since they expanded. (Hard to believe they needed more room!) Lot's of new stuff in these photos I've never seen.  Like that Buell display.  Looks like a timeline of every Buell made from hard-fought beginning to bitter end.

RIGHT - definitely a must. Found in an unlikely gentrified portion of Birmingham.

Nope, I don't think there is anyplace else quite like it.

So as I am sure the initiated among you already know that there is a classic bike show at Barber's. One entire field of bikes was devoted to JAPanInc., while another, smaller group, was mostly for EU and US bikes. Categories included 1920s and older, 1930s, 40's, 50s, 60s, 70's, 80's, Custom, and Race. It was fun walking around and voting on the bikes. Honestly some were so nice there's no way a mere mortal like me could judge. The 20's and older models were in a tent and somehow I failed to take photos - probably too awestruck. About four of the oldest bikes participated in a few parade laps around the track. At least two of those were Excelsior-Hendersons. It was awesome to see.

Of course we did eventually make it to the actual races and watching from ACE corner was the perfect spot. We caught bikes coming into or out of the pits and could see two good turns and a bit of the straight aways from the shade (it was near 100F again). Plus we had food and beer right behind the seating area!

We took a break from the races and headed to the the "Fan Zone" (right down the track from the museum). It had a bunch of corporate vendors and displays, attractions like the Wall of Death and Ball of Death, food (Filipino BBQ mmmm), and more.

Since Jenn hadn't let me bid on the 30-50k Ducati in the auction, I asked if I could perhaps make an offer on this PERFECT (to me) Airhead. Modern brakes, suspension, and running gear on a worked airhead motor. Yup, THAT I could open my wallet for. Asking $28k but they were obviously open to negotiation. she said no f'n way, even at $18k

Then again this one would be less money.

She still said no f'n way, so then I thought MAYBE she'd go for this one

Anyone want to take a guess what she said? Yeah, you got it...

So after that chilly reception I didn't even bother sitting on the Indian FTR or the Triumph Bobber----but the guys did --- not bad I thought.

At this point we took the opportunity to watch some more races from the Fan Zone vantage point. Watched two Guzzis battle it out with an Airhead and had a "few" more beers. I wasn't riding....
