Fear not. It's Orson Welles in repeat.

I’m rather certain no one else in our illustrious group heard this program live; but I did.

Despite being only 4 years + 23 days old, at the time, I tried hard to convince my mom and dad we needed to escape. To somewhere, anywhere. 
I grew up in the NY city metro area.

Today at 8:00pm (east coast), the original 'War of the Worlds' program, by Orson Welles will be broadcast at the original week day & hour - and in its entirety, streemed on  wicn.com  Worcester, MA

I am guessing it was Pearl Harbor but didn't bother to do the algebra.
