Anybody fly one of these?  I remember seeing them but was never stationed where they had them.  Beautiful old times jets,  evidently used up till ‘86

At a local small town flying a few years back. How about three generations?

We had four of them at Hurlburt Field in the early 70's. The former pilots now flying desks would use them to keep up their hours to collect flight pay... Crew chiefs kept them all polished up and pretty. I was surprised seeing how small the engines were. No AB.

iirc those tip tanks held 230 gal. each. IOW ~1/2 ton of fuel, each side. Another 45? behind the back seat. While on active duty I had 2 very cool rides in T33's.

The 33 was developed from the P-80 and then into the F-94.

Always a cool looking plane with straight wings, bubble canopy and jet engine.  IIRC most were retired by the AF in the late 80s.

We had P51's, T33's then F86's followed by F84's. To me the 84's look too much like a Mig. The plain flat circle intake vs the snout like intake of the 86.
I was based in Chaumont, France. Rather decent runway and modern, for the time.
We always had transients from all over Europe. Big fun, as I recall. I stopped in 40 years later. The sleepy little village was no more. The base also lost its charm. Remember the good stuff. It makes for smiles every day.
Back in the day we were much loved by most all, in Europe.  R3~

You can still fly one at Fantasy Fighters in Santa Fe for a couple of thousand an hour if anyone is interested.

I never flew one but I trained on one that was in my A&P mechanics school
in the 70s. It was a beautiful aircraft.
