V9s no longer being produced??

Seems sensible give the fact the V85 seems to be selling well and the V9's in most markets sell like rat sandwiches.

That isn't to say they are horrid, simply unpopular.

My dealer said that the general response he gets to the V9 is that it is under- powered. He has dropped the sale price of the remaining V9 by several thousand Aus$

But fir me it was and is always just about taking it easy and not the “ grunt”- so suits me perfectly.

Sorry Janguzzi but on my reading of the contents of your link, I can’t find any reference to the V9 at all. That absence would seem to confirm the rumour.

I have written to MG to see if they will confirm or deny the information. Will post response here.

I believe the article only talks about what "new" models were shown. If you look at the photos you'll clearly see a V9 Bobber Sport in the show display next to the new Stone S.

My Bro Kiwi Kev scored one and I nearly bought one myself, I just opted for the larger tank the V7 has, in hind site the V9 tank would have been adequate.

As I read the response the Roamer and Bobber will be sold in Europe and perhaps elsewhere until sold out but not manufactured. After that there will be the V9 Sport.

As for the Ausie market, if you want one grab them now!!

Just guessing, but I would not think the Bobber Sport was popular in Europe, maybe I'm wrong? We were in the UK last summer and except for a few Bonnevilles, saw nothing but adventure, sportbikes and sport tourers.

There are plenty of v9 to go around 2018,19s.   Perhaps there may not come 2020s, but no one really knows.  That, however, applies to all models of all vehicles!!  Enjoy what you have, and take comfort in the knowledge that at some point every motorcycle will be discounted.

If we're gonna split hairs we've been told that Guzzi builds bikes in runs all of one model or line. So in theory there are a lot of bikes they won't be producing again until they run low enough on inventory and decide they need/want more.

That could in theory include anything on their website.

The Wife likes the seat length of the V-7II ... So ... I'll keep both of them.

It only seems reasonable for Guzzi to put the V85 motor on future Roamers , and I hope they do.  The bore and stroke is the same as my V-9  ... so how does the V85 rate so much more power don't make sense ?   That would make it a Real World Class Bike to run along side any other machine in its class.
 

Mean while , I like mine just like it is.  Not that I need more power , but if it were built in I wouldn't have to use it ... all the time ...

The V85 uses the 7SM controller and a dirty great big 52mm(? Maybe 54?) throttlebody the V9's still use the MUIG 3.

But I certainly hope I am wrong too!

I wrote to MG and it was responded to by the Australian office.
Perhaps someone in Europe can wrte to MG in Italy and get a response from Head Office.
According to my dealer, the V85 has really taken over.

I suspect the V9 Sport was an attempt to keep the Bobber going in some form that it was hoped would be more popular.

The V7's seem to have survived years and years .

Anyway, I have my Roamer.

All three V9 models are clearly still on the US Moto Guzzi site. 

EDIT: just check the UK site, all are there too.   Aus. site shows Bobber and Roamer, but, no Bobber Sport.

Dude, it's all good and it's not particularly important but you have ONE SINGLE FACT that supports your deduction:

“For the Australian market these two models will no longer be available."

AND I COULD ARGUE you ALSO have a fact that doesn't support your deduction:

"A Bobber Sport is still available in Europe."

So to me it sure seems like an illogical leap. Of course if we combine it with a bunch of other observations it is tempting to make the leap.

No matter.

I still want one, but don't see a road to making it happen.
