Sicliy and Isle of Man Both have triskelions as symbols . Connection or coincidence ?

The common link is that they're both islands that are running "f--ken crazy!"      I live on an island.  Lean left or lean right for a ride.

Looks like it would be a fun bike to ride.  Appears super-clean to my untrained eye. Interestingly, as of this writing, only 2 days left and not a single bid.  Which begs the question: Asking too much money, or yet another sign of a depressed motorcycle market?

It DOES look like a fun bike to ride.

But the market will be asking ... for $12,000 can you get a funner bike to ride?   You'd have a fun-to-ride SORT OF V7 Sport, but it's not near stock, so you'd really have a fun-to-ride roundfin Guzzi.

And that's what will determine the price ...

There's a sort of a vague connection, which I found out in one of the IOM museums last I was there.

The Pope used to determine who was going to be king in and around Europe when there was no legitimate heir, and he gave the Sicilian kingship to Edmund Crouchback, the second son of Henry III, King of England in the late 1200s so Edmund was called "King of Sicily".

Alexander III was King of Scotland in the late 1200s, and he owned the Isle of Man at that time.  The wife of Alexander III was Margaret of England, who was a daughter of King Henry III, and thus was Edmund Crouchback's sister. 

So around 1275, when both of these three-legged flags sort of had their origin on coats of arms, the "King of Sicily" and the "King of Scotland and the Isle of Man" were brothers-in-law.   That's all I know, and all the museum dude knew, or so he said ...

Was surprised to see nobody bid on this one. Thought for sure that someone would bid $12,500.00 at the last second; would've been a good price for a very nice bike. As others have said, being offered so close to Christmas didn't help it...

The only one that I've seen do a restoration on a V7Sport according to definition was Lynn Crowley. He had worked on his fleet down to the actual nuts & bolts and OEM battery etc.  Not sure of the cylinders.  He never rode them.    He would trailer them to the National Rallies when they were in the MidWest.  Museum pieces.

Cadre Cycles is one of a small handful of Guzzi dealers I hear very GOOD things about.  The owner came out to the Ohio Rally this fall.

Yes, it has potential, but overall, it is quite a "BEATER" for $14,700 if you ask me....
