I just got the latest issue of Rider Magazine. An article by Clement Salvadore titled Does a Motorcycle Have Character? Towards the end of the article he says "These test bikes all had their own good points, with a few bad points, and to remember I only have to find the road test. Moto Guzzi Centauro? October 1998." So I was wondering what he meant. I assumed he meant lots of character because we all know our bikes are probably the poster children for bikes with character. I am just not too familiar with older Guzzis.

There is another article, Favorite Ride, in that same mag that has a picture with some bikes in front of a restaurant. It is hard to see but right in front is an MG, looks like it might be a V7 II.

They liked it.. a lot. The cravat being it wasn't bone stock.

It fared well against the speed triple from memory.

Those two machines lasted I believe the owner said about 2 days!!!
I never really got a crack at the Centi as he already had the offer before speaking with me.

1998 Moto Guzzi Centauro Sport. 18k miles. Good tires, new battery, timing belts replaced 3 years ago. Near perfect, only a few scrapes on the front fairing, concealed by paint. Runs perfect, drips or burns nothing. Bradenton, FL more info on request.

Yes I am aware of all of the current ones available on Cycle /eBay ect.
And yes I am interested in a low mileage/well kept unmolested example that has the desirable corrections done .... at present there are quite a few that do not fit that requirement but I'm optimistic that one will present itself or a member may PM with an offer of one such creature in the future.

Not necessarily.. this is Guzzi we're talking about.

Mine was anthracite with the "adjustable" bars, sport chin fairing and fly screen, and GT "luggage rack." '98.

Equipped the same as mine, and mine was called a GT, too.

I'm not sure they ever made the windshields for the GT model.. I've never seen one.
It's a repaint, by the way.

My '98 GT came with the bikini fairing AND the belly pan. I added the rack later, which I found on eBay...(just sayin')

Oooooh. Forgot about that. 1 year later, add a windscreen and luggage rack. Call it a GT (Gran Turismo) and now appeals to the touring crowd.

I've seen a picture of the GT windshield.. but none in the flesh. I wonder if they ever made them?

A windshield on the "pregnant shrimp"? Never saw any but I didn't pay attention to the accessories for them either. I just wanted one.
