New Cumberland West Virginia-lives
« on: February 22, 2020, 06:58:37 AM »
After a year of down time to regroup the Rally is once again being held on the banks of the Ohio River in New Cumberland WV, at the New Cumberland Vol Fire Dep, 507 South Chester Street.    The rally never did die as a group of riders had their own rally last year camping at a local campground.  Now thanks to John Ashcroft, the organizer for the past many years, who has stepped up- it is on.  Memorial Day Weekend, May 21-22,23, 24.  A few come a day or two  early.  It looks like the town has missed us as this years rally is donations only for the rally fee. It  includes 24 hour coffee, dinners, Thurs and Friday, local maps 50/50 raffle, door prizes, Continental Sunday breakfast, and food available on site.   Donation only camping. Bring a few bucks for donations. Think about  bringing  a door prize.   No dogs.    Tents and Rv's.  You can just show up but if you need to contact John Ashcroft  he can be reached at 304 564 5015 or jaybird507@yahoo.com

I went to this rally in 18 and really enjoyed it.  There are not many rallies to choose from over the holiday weekend.  It is a great setting with fun roads in all directions just under 200 miles from my Northern Kentucky home. As always, the MG crowd is awesome.

The Cass BMW Rally is at Boyer Station Campground in Arbovale, WV the same weekend. All brands welcome. Been going there since '06 on my Guzzi (or Aprilia, MZ, Morini, etc.).

A few days ago I talked to John Ashcroft, the man in charge, and he is organized and ready.  He asked the Moto Guzzi groups to get the word out and reminded me that all brands are welcome.      thanks Jim

Yeah, but it's not a Guzzi rally, even though all brands are welcome at both rallies.

Something special about Guzzi rallies and Guzzi people.   That's why we like them, not necessarily because of the venue, amenities,  and local roads .... !

I've been to BMW rallies.   Something's just not the same.

There are quite a few "Guzzi people" that come to the Cass BMW Rally. The group that holds the Cass rally isn't affiliated with any large national BMW club. Don't judge the Cass rally by your experience at others.

the current guzzi rallies are like the bmw rallies were 20 or so years ago.  it felt much more like family then, maybe the airhead influence.
