NGC - Some two stroke fun
« on: March 04, 2020, 09:41:12 PM »
I can't vouch for the accuracy of the info in this video ..... but thought it was fun since it didn't focus exclusively on bikes.  Has something for everyone  ..... Oliver tractor, snowmobile, Saab, etc.  It's slightly over 9 minutes.

I saw those drag races several years ago. The other examples (tractors and cars), were blown through so fast they were mostly wasted.
Still fun though. I had a Suzuki RG500 Gamma, for a short time. It was way too much bike for me to be comfortable. But always an immense hoot.
I've not heard of a Gamma being drag raced.
The most fun I have on my 2 strokes is running a small bore engine fast, on hilly country roads. On occasion you'll see a home owner drop his rake, mower, shovel and punching the sky w/both fists; You know he wants to ride again.
Contemporary 2 strokes are making outrageous power, by comparison.
 2 - 125's, 400, 500. 5 - 4 strokes.  Thanx for posting the link. R3~

Like many of us here (I dare say), I grew up on two-strokes; they were my first bikes, and my first real road bikes.

The sound and smell still takes me back to being King of the Road around here when I was 16 or 17 .....

Motocross in Michigan in the 70's-80's was a teenager's heaven. The smell of Golden Spectro brings me back down memory lane. If'n I get another dirt bike, it'll be a KDX 200/220 2-stroke.
