These are beautiful bikes when finished.  I photographed this one at a bike show earlier this year.  But I prefer my LM 5 for sport touring.

$1500 is a good deal...However, would require another $4K-$5K+ to look like that silver beauty!!

Those six (6) gallon Interstate steel gas tanks are worth $800-$1200 by themselves!  :thumb:

Matter of fact, it's SUCH a good deal that I'm a bit suspicious that it's real.   Complete stock Interstates for $1500 are a 1990s thing.   As you say, the parts alone are worth double the asking price.   And the Silver Beauty is a $10,000 bike, so the $5K to get this one to that shape would be a good deal for a motivated Norton person ....

It would be worth a trip to investigate it, if it were less than ~300 miles out of my normal range of travel.

As for the seat, it could be an original seat;  it needs a repro seat cover, properly installed.

I'd go look at that bike if it was close by, probably wouldn't take much to get it going if what he is saying about the bike is true.

The author removed the ad, so it's either sold or he realized it was worth much more.

Yep, either the first Norton guy with his truck keys in his hand and an ATM close by bought it ......

.... or a friend said "What, are you CRAZY?  Lemme tell you what you SHOULD be asking!"

.... or it was a scam and someone caught it ....
