Fixing my SO's elliptical machine today. If that lunatic doesn't exercise everyday she gets lunatic-er and I have to sleep with one eye open.Pray for me.
LOL no joke. When I was dating my SO, she told me "I need to exercise, if I dont I get grumpy. Whenever I am, just tell me to go for a run" Somehow that tactic loses effectiveness after the 10th time in a day or at 11pm ;-)
I think this "lockdown" thing brings out some crazy ideas..... The other day someone in our local neighborhood "group" was giving away a Hammond organ, For free. I have always wanted to learn to play keyboards, so I said what the heck... we now have a Hammond organ from the 80s, sitting in our living room, and I am finding out its not very easy to learn. Lots of features, such as drums, different tempos, pedals on the bottom produce a deep Basso profundo sound, like when a kids civic with the big speaker boxes passes by the house, and the walls vibrate! So far I can play Silent Night, and Mary had a little lamb, and I can annoy the heck out of our Jack Russell terrier at will! My wife walks by shaking her head asking" Do you think this is how Liberace' started?"Hmmm, thats a deep question, right there...Gotta think about that one! Rick.
Full disclosure, certain songs on the Bagpipes can bring this He-man to tears...just sayin'.
Considering this as the lockdown continues, and I can't ride until late June.
Same ol', same 'ol here, except my weekly trip into 'town for supplies is now on a every third week schedule and I'm not riding as much as I'd like.
I spent a good part of a day repairing a 92' Yamaha Serow 250, my farm trailbike that was leaking fuel from the carb. Turns out it was a broken float post, so the float couldn't prevent the fuel from overloading the bowl. I replaced the post by drilling and tapping a 3/16" hole through the carb where the post was, then I drilled a 1/16" hole through a nut, threaded the bolt into the hole where the post was and then spun the nut until it was the same height as the hole in the remaining good float post. Then I used the hole in that post and the hole in the nut as a guide and drilled a 1/16" hole through the bolt. I then shortened the bolt, threaded the nut off the bolt and built a new float pin out of a finishing nail and voila, a repaired carb. Made me feel pretty clever.
