No offense to anyone who has bought these but they are BUTT UGLY 😂

Just take the stars of the collar and it's a dark blue with red piping 3/4 jacket.

The details are better appointed than most gear attributable to police specification and Valentino design house.

It looks like they raised the price after the onslaught of orders.  Now $110.99 + TT&L.

Is that because US Police Depts disapprove of Italian Carabinieri outfits?  :thumb: :thumb:

Isn't the outfit supposed to be more functional than anything else?  In general, I'd venture to say Italian fashion is usually more "stylish" than US fashion, but then this thread will turn into a political discussion, which it's not meant to be about...ahem, ahem.

I finally took a ride while wearing mine.  Not bad.  The only real flapping about I experienced was the upper arm (bicep) area.  The collar didn't flap around at all.  I like the two way zipper so I can unzip the bottom a little bit for comfort.  And it's a high quality zipper.
I'm a bit heat sensitive so I won't wear this in any weather over 70 and sunny-- it's hot, doesn't seem breathable, and doesn't vent well.
I'm not sure what the pass through slots are for above the bottom pockets- I can't fit my hand through there- but it's nice to see the slots are edged with a durable material like leather or vinyl.  It's a thoughtful high quality touch.  And it's nice to see that the pockets have zippers and flaps.  They'll be waterproof and secure.
All in all, it's a nice jacket that I will reserve for colder, wetter, days.  Worth the money.  As for being ugly-- well, NCDan ain't entirely wrong.

Sportsman's Guide has price fluctuations all the time. My dad paid $140 for his jacket around Thanksgiving last year when they were for sale for $99 a few days before. I bought one in January and the price was back down to $99.

If you want one and don't like the price just wait a while and keep checking back every few days or so and buy when the price goes back down.

I ordered one but it's too restrictive in the shoulders for me so back it goes! I will say the return policy was easy and fast! I'll keep using my good old yeller Kilimanjaro jacket with about 7 years of funk on it. You don't get that kinda stank overnight!  Should have known better, if it works DON'T FIX IT!!

I laundered my mesh gear in a hotel bathtub in Utah and the amount of sand left in the tub was surprising.   I thought I was only removing bug stains and odor.

On those old jackets ... I have a Kilimanjaro jacket with 7 years worth of road grime too ... it's in great shape considering BUT all the velcro is bad and some of the fasteners don't work.

Kind of like a modern car - you don't get rid of them because the motor or transmission failed, it's because the gauges quit working, the window handles fell off, and the headliner fell out ....

Well I'm not too happy with the vendor, Sportsman Guide.  I just see they charged me $50 today on my paypal account to become a member.  I don't recall ever signing up for it.  It seems like a scam since it came a month after purchase.  Apparently paypal won't help but they'll put a stop to future payments to SG.

I can only guess I checked the wrong box and missed the fine print.

I'll let the folks here know so that you might get a chance to prevent them from scamming you too.

Of course, you can't talk to a human on the phone at paypal or SG since they are closed due to the virus.  It makes me wonder how secure paypal is.  I might call the credit card company to stop payment.  $50, not enough to make a deal over but enough to piss me off.

Not a scam...the pricing at the time gave two options....member pricing or non member pricing where it said that membership would be charged in 30 days but you could cancel before that.

John,
Go here     https://www.sportsmansguide.com/club/managemembership        and cancel your membership. They should refund you fully. If you have ordered anything after the 30 days and received a membership discount, you will owe that amount (the membership discount) back to them. They seem to be a stand-up company.

Happened to me,too. I emailed them, told them I did not authorize them to sign me up for their buyers club. They responded, apologized, and refunded my card. Kinda sneaky, though. I wonder how often they do that and get away with it?

Hmmmm, not sure what happened in your cases.... but when I looked at this, they had one price ($89) if you joined up/already were a member, and another price ($99) for non-members (I think I have these prices right, it may have been $99/$109-- they change the offer frequently). Perhaps you clicked on the lower price? It seemed pretty clear to me what they were doing.

Thanks for the info guys.  I knew it had to be "my fault".  Even worse, it wasn't clear what the billing was even about.  Not a clear description other than a charge.  They don't answer the phone due to CV.

I'll go their website and try to straighten it out.  I did get an e-mail from them and wrote them back.  I can tell you, I'll never purchase anything from them again.  And I'll try any other option before I use my paypal account again (I know I can't really cancel it).

I hate tricky stuff and going through a hassle.  It's only $50.

Just like almost every site, they have "options" that default in the direction that "push" you in the direction THEY want.   Every site you see will have an already-checked box that says "Send me promotional Emails", and you have to find it and UNcheck it if you don't want your mailbox flooded every day.

I think that sportsmansguide is an OK company, BUT they sort of do the same thing.   When you place an order, there's a big check box 2 by 3 inches that offers for you to become a member, with "small print" that says that it's a $49.99 AUTO-RENEWING charge annually.   If you're in a hurry, it looks like a "Continue With Checkout" sort of thing.

Down below, there's a tiny little link that says "No Thanks, I'd rather pay extra" or something to that effect.   If you don't click this, you can only get to the end of checkout by "joining the club".

Just gotta watch out these days.

OK, they responded to my e-mail and will they'll take off the charge.  I do appreciate their quick response.  It's still a little sneaky billing me 30 days later.

When you click on the “member price” there is text that says they will bill you for the membership in 30 days. And they say if you change your mind/cancel your membership, they will refund it to you minus the difference between the member and non-member price. At least, all this was spelled out when I looked at their site.

That was to give you 30 days to decide about being a member or notTo take advantage of the member pricing on the jacket.  Sounds quite decent as they didn’t charge up front.  It was Pretty clearly stated.

Not sure what the PayPal issue mentioned but they have no responsibility in this particular issue of pricing.

Perhaps clearly stated Paul but I'm not alone here for falling for the same scheme.  How many checked the wrong box and didn't know $50 was taken off their cards 30 days later?  It seems a little fishy, kudos to you guys that didn't get caught.

Me?  I'm done with SG and making paypal my last choice.  The idea that I can get billed and paid off my card a month later with no notice doesn't seem right to me.   Next time it might be a lost $20M security deposit for a seat on the Tesla Space Flight.   Not for me.

I’ve been a member of SG for 25+ years and been a member most of that time however not now as I don’t order enough stuff to make up the membership.
The military and foreign country police stuff is very good quality and cheap priced, excluding these BUTT UGLY police jackets😂😂😂😂😂😂

I don't have much good to say about SG but wearing the jacket makes anyone wearing it an elite of Guzzi Royalty.  Those of us wearing the jacket would lead the parade at Elkader and be Road Captains to the followers.

Without the jacket, you're not part of the club.  You're a worthy Guzzi rider for sure but not apart of the "Guzzi esprit de corps".

Follow and we will lead.

The best part of riding a motorcycle is to tilt the horizon and to lift the front coming out of a corner and to drift the back end powering thru loose dirt and to catch a little air topping a hill and... yeah it's all good!

Only wearing mesh today.  Saw a guy on a black Griso SE at Pop's.   Don tuned it on his Dynojet.  Said he ran up to 151.  I have no idea what the speedo correction is.

But yes, I did wear it on the Duc.
