Saw one at the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa Iowa a few years ago. The museum was a regular day trip from the MGNOC Iowa rally in Elkader. Not sure what model it was but impressive machine.

There is a great book by Dave Manthe a Wisconsin guy who showed up at Munch  garage where he was hand building the bikes.Munch befriended Dave who saved and borrowed funds to buy one.Dave was not a typical rich collector but a young guy who fixed his friends bikes. He even delivered one to Leno in his old van.He used to show up at the slimes crud run on a Munch and sell his books.Sadly died a few years ago at a young age.

I saw one at the Slimy Crud Run once. Must have been his. My goodness, that's a big bike. Obviously built to run the Autobahn.

What dedication to building a 'superbike,' even before there was such a thing.  Amazing to me that an engineer would be so taken with the concept of building a motorcycle around a 4 cyl in-line NSU automobile engine, that he would follow through with such an outstanding final product.  RIP Freidel!

BTW JJ, great pics!

Here's a short article on the bikes, start to finish.  Good Jay Leno ride also.
