Clock for the Guzzi

Sometimes I find it useful to know what time it is when I'm riding. For an older bike w/o a clock in the dash, you can Velcro a cheap watch onto the handlebars. Not the most elegant solution, but functional and easily removable. Sticky Velcro on the handlebars and a strip of the non-sticky, mating Velcro on the watch. I like Timex Indiglos (about $30) because they are waterproof and a tap on the stem illuminates the dial.

They are still around. I just got new O Rings for my clock and thermometer as well as advice about the correct fluid to fill the thermometer with.

Hi Rich,

I did the wrist watch thing on several of my old bikes years ago.  I got cheap $10 Walmart ones and bought a HF watch spanner to change the batteries every couple years.  I haven't had one fail yet except for batteries.

I've had one on my T3's handlebars for three or four years. It's really a battery-operated watch in a special mount.

EDIT: Rich A, in my enthusiasm for my own solution I overlooked the illuminated dial that you emphasized. Lack of illumination is a major drawback of my clock and a continual annoyance at night. Maybe I'll velcro a Timex on top of it!

Funny you mention that. A little over a year ago I bought a Timex to wear as a wrist watch. Like you said, 30 bucks. It is part of what they call their weekender line, but I think it also shows up in their easy reader category. 3 hands, period. Very easy to see, indiglo is awesome. It also keeps accurate time. Well worth the money.

I put this one on the handle bar of my DR recently. Only water resistant, but for $13 who cares. IT's easy to read.





I hadn't rode my V7 in 4 weeks and noticed the clock in the speedo gained 70 minutes since my last ride. Anyone else have this happen? The battery has not been unhooked, so I'm not sure of the reason.
