v 7 iii final drive oil amount

hi all, need some help
my mechanic changed the final drive oil in my v7 iii
there where 200 cc of oil inside,insted of the 170cc as required
i had this amount of oil for at least 8000 miles with no leaks,or problems
he then put again  200 cc ,as it was before.
am i endanger the final drive?200 cc instead of 170 cc?
how often the oil should be changed?thanks

On my earlier V7's I only put in the specified 170ml. Any more seeps out the level hole.

Usually, I change it every oil change, but have been known to skip it now and again, without untoward consequences, but I also mix in some 20ml of Nulon G70, a gear treatment, supposed to "harden" the bevels, or some such snake oil. Seems to work fine. Usually the old oil comes out "looking" good, so skipping a change now and again may well be OK. Only 220,000km on one of them, and 120,000km on the other, so early days yet.

anything over 160 CC and mine spits it out the breather. many V7's seem to ingest rainwater so It's best to just change after major rain if yours does and if not every other oil change. do it yourself.

The 200cc hasn’t harmed anything.   Worry not.  The extra may blow out the vent on top if you get it really hot, but no big deal. 

In fact, I seem to remember Guzziology actually recommending a bit extra oil in the final drive.
