All pros for you, no cons!

One con for me ... I just can't do the feet-forward/hands-up/butt-down style of touring cruiser ... so that means more for everyone else!

This could be a go-forever bike, you never know.   Hardly broken in yet.

The stones are not that bad. The lower stone handlebars are a welcome change to the normal Cali buckhorn/tiller bars. The stone pegs feel a little farther back then the other models boards also. The seat ill give you....  Mine is pretty bad, and a few inches taller, and about a inch farther back would be welcome..   I tend to like a more sporting ride also...  and I was planning on finding a cali to mod..  But the stone I got was so damn clean, I cant see to change it!!!

I just finished the 50 miles home and my first though was, boy its nice to be back on a bike with a soul.
The bike is exactly how the PO said it was, he was an honest man. It needs a good cleaning and detailing which will start when it cools off, yea both the bike and the atmosphere🥵
So far the only things I’ve made note of that will need to be addressed are fairly simple...

-handle bars need pulling back a couple inches
-seat will need rebuilt to get the hump out.
Front tire is worn out, rear ok for the summer.
Need a set of crash bars, anyone who has a set feel free to shout out.
I did smell what smells like differential oil but unable to see a wet spot anywhere 🤔

All the paints are perfect and I’ll have to get use to the drab no shiny paint application.
The Givi bags and trunk are all but perfect, a few places to touch up will all but show perfection at 5 feet.
The after market mufflers really have a sweet tone and really not toooo loud however I may end up putting the factory ones back on as they are in 100% perfect condition.
PO said it had a full service at 7K miles and it’s at 9700 and two years so I’ll be calling harpers to order needed parts.
So there we go. Please send any advice, or suggestions; kind words welcomed. And there’s nothing that is said that

Progress report. I got the loud mufflers off and stock back on, much better, for my liking anyway.Anyone wants them are welcome to them, just pay shipping. Got the windshield mounted back properly, for the most part anyway. These shields were made by national cycle and Harpers can’t get the rubber plug things that the shield and hardware were designed to use. I’ll try national cycle Monday and see if they can even still be obtained. I found some similar at a fastener place that worked in the top two holes and used another system for the bottom, it works just not matching.

The rubber plugs you made reference to are called well nuts. They were also used on some attaching point on the modern LeMans fairing. In any case they might be easier to source than you realize.

If you google "well nuts" you will find all kinds of them, even metric threads.

What a gorgeous bike.  Congrats.  I've owned 4 different 1100 Cali versions and that orange is my favorite that I could never find for sale.  Not many issues at all on these.  Your stock tail turn signals WILL break off eventually and, as others have mentioned, your speedo will probably go out before you hit 20k.  But all in all, relatively nothing for what you get.  Though I kinda liked the hydros (‘03/‘04) just the very slightest bit better overall, I used to swear up and down that the '02 I owned was a little bit faster.

I may would get use to them but it seems I’m having to lean forward to much as I like a complete upright ridding position, probably due to so many miles ridding as a motor officer. I pulled them back as much as practical but still reaching.   
As far as the cans go a lot of folks would really like them. They are not all that loud as to be annoying to most folks but I’ve been there and done that and just prefer quite more these days. 

The PO had taken the Givi bags off at dome point so I’ve got to remount them. He told me he had to do some mods on the mounting hardware to get them to work. Does Give not make mounting hardware specify for the Stone?

I too wanted more pull back so I can’t recall what I did but it was either risers or bassa bars.

I got some replacements from Amazon and some from Lowes.  Now, I can't quite remember which worked best.  Anyway, heres the Amazon ones:

Well I guess it was too good to be true, I could a chink in the ole gals armor. The smell of differential grease I’ve been smelling has surfaced. Last night I cleaned the underneath clean and road it a few miles to get it good and hot. I could smell the grease every time I stopped. When I got Home I took a light and took a look underneath and low and behold there it was. A small amount of oil/ grease had seeped out of the small rectangle shaped hole, just above the oil drain plug where the tranny boots to the block. Is it fair to assume I’ve got a leaking seal in the tranny?

That's likely ... the upside is that you won't be "ashamed to divulge what" you got the bike for any more, after you've pulled that tranny .....

So I removed the plug,where the fluid runs out when its full, then stood the bike up. Fluid started pouring out, there was at least 3 -4 shot glasses ran out. What a stinking mess. I hope that was the problem.

2000 for the bike itself and 2250 with all the like new Givi deluxe touring bags and trunk.

I was just funning, if the only ride I had was a wheel chair or wheel barer I’d still hand out with you guys. I was just in between guzzis and was determined to wait for the right one to come along and I think that may have happened, hopefully 👍

Lol Lannis, I do attempt to do things right however do fall short much of the time.
Does anyone have a set of these riser things they would swap for a set of pipes. The pipes are not obnoxiously loud, just a little louder baritone and only bark when pushed?
