American Eagle single (Laverda)

Never seen one of these, it is unique. Looks to be in pretty nice shape.

I had one many, many years ago when I was in high school. Am American Eagle 150. Fun trail bike and it impressed me with how well it went through the snow. Traded it for a boat so I could (hopefully) see girls in bikinis.

Back in the '80s, the local Yamaha dealer had two Garelli badged 150s in their basement, both missing the front wheels for some reason. An acquaintance bought both of them, but from there the "trail goes cold".

I've never seen a Laverda/American Eagle in person, only photos. I do have a cylinder head from one.

Not surprising really. If I had a bike that ugly I'd never take it out for a ride either

Very distinct and cool looking I think. Ride that and have a possum as a pet, and you have a style that everyone will remember!

It's got groovy custom Unicon styling   The stylist was a guy named Lenny Stobar, who is probably this guy https://www.linkedin.com/in/len-stobar-a6b6b090  https://www.sandiegoreader.com/news/2018/aug/29/golden-intuitive-engineer/  He also designed the Jacwal fairing that some may remember.  https://w6rec.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Page1LR-753x1024.jpg

I recall reading something about his relationship with Jack McCormack, the principal of American Eagle.   Some info at the link below.

I like the "quick change" styling.   :thumb:
