Hydro motor? Lifters done?

No reason to believe that odometer works :)

Yes it's a hydro and yes you would need to inspect under the cover before paying that kind of price for it.  Funny the engine paint looks glossy like a 2004

How about this one, near St. Louis

Aren't these adverts sort of like advertising a 2008 - 2012 8-valve Guzzi and not saying a word about whether the essential remedial service (hydraulic lifters on the hydro motors, roller tappets on the 8-valves, chrome cylinder update on a Loop) has been done?

I guess we talk about it so much on here that we practically know the serial number ranges, the build dates, the suppliers for the new parts, and how to look for/test for the necessary conditions.

But apparently there are Guzzi owners everywhere that have no idea that these things exist, or (and you'd hate to think this) they know and are hoping to pass the bike off onto someone who doesn't know ...

At least you would have a chance with a dealer sorting an 8V.  Try taking that hydro to a dealer and asking for the recall...
