Welcome to WILDguzzi! I'm still waiting to see if their are going to be new bikes, or at least bold new anniversary colors. What do you currently ride?
As I've said before, this would be a great opportunity for Guzzi to offer a factory delivery program for new motorcycles. Visit the factory, pick up your new bike, enjoy the rally, ride through Europe, ship the bike home.Of course, I'd like to see a big block sport touring rig. None of the bikes they sell now.
Because it is superboring to ride the Autostrada. 👍🏻
A buy, ride, then ship program would likely be a legal, and a practical nightmare. I'd imagine you'd have to actually buy the bike from your dealer here in the US. Or whatever country you live in. Get it registered, licensed and insured in Italy, ride it, then return it to the factory to be crated and shipped to your home country and dealer. If this were feasible, I'd guess companies like BMW, Ferrari, Maserati, Ducati, Moto Guzzi etc. may already offer it. Since they don't, it speaks volumes to the complexity of the situation. What you may be able to do is rent the bike (or a car) like the one you want in Europe, enjoy it then simply return it before you travel back home. Of course the same legalities of needing an International license, local insurance and the cost of the rental still come into play. Though most things are possible if you have enough time, effort and money to invest in your desire.
Has there been any additional news about the centennial celebrations in Mandello or anything in the USA?Obviously things are in flux as infection rates rise while vaccines roll out around the world at different rates, etc. Just wondering if there have been any announcements or even credible rumors. And regarding everyone's wish (that I share) for stunning new centennial models: If they existed, the geniuses in Mandello would have advertised them starting in 2019 thus ruining sales of 2019 and 2020 models, and the third round of production delays would be announced next week, pushing delivery estimates back until after the riding season of 2021 ends. In the end, some models would arrive to dealerships during blizzards in February 2022, while the one model that created the most buzz would never be produced.
From a buyer's perspective, I'd guess it would take a signature and a check.
If anything the MGNOC National Rally in NH will be the stateside 100th celebration. Randy said that he's planning for 500 participation BUT will look at the pre-registers to make a final decision. The MGNOC National Rallies historically have been the U.S. largest gathering of North American Moto Guzzi owners in one place. The 100th celebration in Mandello del Lario at the old factory should be large. Any one that went to the 75th, 80th, 90th or 95th can comment.
If I so ride it'll be from up through AR, TN, KY then the North route going west into NH. Going up along the East Coast sucks. Loads of good roads on the west side or east side of the Appalachias. Just avoid the I95 corridor & the eastern part of the Atlantic seaboard..
A 100 yr anny model......... Mmmmm
What about the - 2021 Special?
That idea will go viral..
