Maybe some folks thought that “bumping” meant something else because it was being explained as a solution to something it normally isn’t described for. I was wondering how bumping a thread took care of long links. So basically you’re saying, keep the thread fresh and the issue will be seen? K, got it.
The Swag thread is sorted . Lannis , here is why screwing up this thread isn't a solution , what you did just messed up this thread , on purpose . Dusty
I simply copied the same address that was causing the problem on the Swag thread onto this thread, to try out the "Bump" solution you said was the answer. If a thread was going to be "screwed up", this seemed like the right place to test it out.It didn't work. Bumping the post didn't fix the problem. Your solution didn't work. So you got rid of my post, accused me of "screwing it up", and did something different.<SIGH>Lannis
I just tried the bump on the “top ten car post”. For whatever reason it got super long and tiny font. I bumped it but nothing happened?
You have to bump it until it clears that page .I have explained this , it isn't hard . On that thread it is just barely stretched out . Dusty
Then what the heck is bumping? How does one bump?
To ‘bump’ a thread is to simply respond to it in order to keep it relevant/at the top of the thread list.
Are you a troublemaker by nature , or is this a learned skill ? The other thread is fixed , stop whining . Dusty
One man's troublemaker is another man's wiseass. At least I think that's how the old quote reads.I think both are inherent skills that occur to one by nature. Very few have the patience required to practice either skill until perfection can be attained. But if you need to practice either, I hear the internet has lots of places where all kinds of skills can be honed.
My definition of the BUMP is a little more on the FUNKY side https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haAduyUNQN0
Very good John Dusty
But you don't technically HAVE to say BUMP ........ right?
but which oil should be referenced in the bump? synthetic or regular?? what weight?????gearbox or tranny??? so many questions.......Jeff
