V7 III Headlight Grill
« on: August 29, 2020, 05:14:13 PM »
In browsing through threads, I read of owners adding a headlight grill to their V7 III using tie-straps or fabricating their own. I then stumbled onto the following custom V7 III with a nice one installed.

I'm curious if the part is available now? I found the following that might work:

I say go for it! Of course, you definitely need the fork gators to go with, IMO!
And pics!

Is 7" the right size?

I also found this beauty on their site:

I was researching your suggestion and I think the V7 III has fork gators from the factory, right?

The Stones should have them from the factory.
Other versions don't have them (Special, Milano, maybe others).

Cheers!

That's right. My Milano doesn't have them. They would look good with the bike's color(less) scheme, IMO.

It's picked up from Speed Moto and awaiting the bike. It's a beautifully crafted piece of billet aluminum. I'll install it the day that the bike arrives and post a picture.

For anyone wondering about this still I have just finished installing it on my V7III stone. I was kind of hoping that it would fit right on but some minor modification needed to be done. I just had to grind larger holes so that the attaching screws would have enough room to fit back to the main headlight body. Either way here is the a pic  :thumb:

Mine came with sticky tape as well but I obviously wouldn't use it lol... The mesh guard has a lip that fits inbetween the headlight rim and the actual headlight. To do this you obviously have to take the headlight out. As for the cleaning just spray some water and soap or take the rim off and clean it. Cheers.
