'Sport Wing' Interesting Honda

Take one Goldwing 1200, mix with a CBX fairing and you have a Sport Wing.

Honda should have offered this, the CBX fairing just looks right to me!

I like it but I've always liked that fairing.  From the ad:

!984 Honda Gold Wing 1200 Custom Build.
I started with a Gold Wing standard in 1984 (no fairing or bags) and added a smaller fairing and bags. This was the last year for the four cylinder standard. The valve and front belt covers and other engine parts have been chromed. The fairing, which includes a custom bronze windscreen and a spare, is from a 1982 Honda CBX (six cylinder Super Bike) and the bags are 1981 Honda bags). Then everything was custom painted along with two bullet hole stickers. The bags are secured with custom made polished stainless steel supports. The custom made bag guards can be quickly removed for riding without the bags. The custom made instrument panel has four lights indicating the radar on/off, the radar horn on/off (warns you at speed), the alert light blinks when radar is detected, and the satellite radio on/off. There are four gauges: ambient temperate, altitude, clock and volt meter. There is an electric jacket regulator and outlet and a GPS power cord. It is satellite radio ready. The custom made seat is comfortable on long trips which includes a removable back rest (this Gold Wing has been to Sturgis six times!) The tires are in excellent condition. All fluids have been changed including the brake fluid. At about 95000 miles a new gas pump and filter, water pump, front belts and ujoints were installed. Custom Work shocks were installed front and rear. This "Mini" Gold Wing needs nothing. It has 101997 miles on synthetic oil changed every 2000-2500 miles. It is known that these engines will easily go over 300,000 miles if taken care of as this one has. This beauty comes with two large boxes of extra parts and air and oil filters including two new hard bags still packed in the original unopened box. A very reliable bike. It has never let me down out on the open road. This motorcycle is a real head turner and a great cruiser. Everyone wonders what it is! It appears almost new. Always stored inside. No disappointments. Includes a black Tourmaster Transition 3.0 motorcycle jacket, summer protective jacket, Gerbers electic heated jacket, tank bag, emergency kit with tools and sevicing a flat tires, summer and winter gloves, two covers and two helmets. Medical issues forces sale. $2900 or best offer.

He lost the run of himself.

Sounds like a good deal for a backup bike?
I think the 1200 was the best all around motor Honda put in a GW, I also love that fairing!

Nice look, but doesn't hide the fact that that's still one big heavy old bâtarde ...

A little weight can be a good thing at times, especially when stuck on the slab for an extended amount  of time

There is no question, that modified Gold Wing is "way cool"...and a great value...but it's hard to beat the original 1982 CBX, like this one... in all it's glory! :thumb:
