Former Guzzi rider, now on a Burgman sighting
« on: September 21, 2020, 07:05:09 PM »
I was on a ride yesterday in upper CT when I stopped on my Cal 2 Auto at a McD's to have a coffee before the ride home. Parked next to a Burgman 650, didn't see the owner until I came back with my coffee. He was taking a pic of my Cal 2, and said he used to own an '86 Cal 2 also. We talked a bit, he didn't seem like a seasoned rider wearing all manner and layers of nylon sweatsuits and raingear with hood (on a sunny day) to keep the brisk wind at bay while riding, but it turned out he used to have a California 1400, and before that the Cal 2, and before THAT an Eldo that he put 150k miles on. There may have been other interim bikes.

His name was Francis, from Albany, I think. He said he used to post here a long time ago, and he'd been to lots of rallies and knew Joe Eisch(?) well.

Does this guy sound familiar to anybody? Was pretty cool to run into a Guzzi rider, even if he wasn't on a Guzzi, and a no-where stop.
