V-11 Sport Greenie
« on: October 13, 2020, 10:20:05 AM »
Greetings all.
Was wondering if anyone out there in Guzzi land has a V-11 Greenie with color matched Stucci chin cowl installed?
I remember years ago Harpers had them available as well as the Tenni green cowl for the last generation Griso.
I would have thought that quite a few of them should have been acquired and installed however I don't believe I have ever seen a Greenie with one and the only Tenni Griso cowl I ever saw was the one I had for my Griso years ago?
Any and all......... thx in advance

Ciao

I added one to my V11 and color matched it to my paint which was a custom color. Originally, the bike was green and the previous owner had the custom paint done. I also installed the Stucchi flyscreen which also worked quite well. I frankly don't know if they are made anymore.

best looking Greenie I ever saw was Ewan McGregor's with a color matched Magni fairing.. not sure if you can still find those or if they are still produced.

That is an amazing conversion Phil and I would kill to put that in my garage, but on a purely aesthetic grounds, I like the color matched Magni fairing bike better.
Odd thing to focus on, but the fairing mounted round mirrors just got me for some reason.

I do love the reverse cone megs and black engine on yours tho-- not to mention it's a hi-cam

Mine was a tongue in cheek post, really. Style is a personal thing. I have to say I think the Magni fairing only looks good from a low 3/4 front on perspective. Not too keen on it from other angles.
The reverse cone pipes on mine need the reverse section shortened and the whole muffler body moved forward about 2 inches I think. It's on my to do list.
I measured some old round ST2 Ducati carbon cans I have laying around and the end caps would fit if you removed the reverse cone, but I dont think it would look right.

Yep. I've done all the laborious design and research stuff for anyone who wants to replicate. Or I could build another customer one for a reasonable hourly rate:)

Yes Chuck, true. In general we live in the "it's all easy" world these days, that is until it comes to the details and then people like you and I sit back and smile. I have a 22 YO son that's first response to any task is "piece of cake". That's my cue to sit back and wait for the inevitable result.
It's simply not cool to admit something can be challenging. I've given up asking people how long something took to do because they always come up with some unrealistic time frame designed to make them seem like a gun.

well heck, I'd race Phil and Chuck's Mighty Scura.  Both at once.

(Well, if I can get it to start.   )

When it runs, it does have oil pressure.  And it's been ridden as far as OKC to North Carolina.

The ONLY... thing I would have done differently would be leave the chin fairing off and colour match the fairing...
Then that would be IT...!

I actually like the chin fairing and I was considering fitting a deep sump with a oil level sight glass but I liked the chin fairing. If you fit the deep sump you also lose the side stand support bolt. The fairing is carbon fibre so looks better in the flesh but colour matching it would be an option I'd go for if it wasn't carbon. The thing with the greenies is that if you have the std green front guard and then add a green small fairing you end up with a lot of green which gets a little too much in my mind. The front guard is carbon as well as is the starter cover.

You're not the only one to have postulated it's the bike Guzzi should have made, possibly instead of the Centauro.
