Yes, that’s why I said in my post title I think I am going nuts!  :embarassed: I can’t explain it but I have had a complete change of heart regarding my “toys”.  For some reason I have been riding (in the cold temperatures), except for the last few days as I am out of state for the Holidays,  and I have been motorcycle reborn, so to speak.  I can’t explain it but I have a hunger to add more bikes to my herd.  (I still might sell a bike or two that I have now).   Then I started looking and so far I haven’t decided which toy(s) to add but I’m looking at a Honda Fury, two old Honda cb 750 choppers, a Jeep Wrangler, or a Pontiac solstice!  It’s almost like I am going through a midlife crisis at the age of 63!  This year I sold my 1973 VW beetle, and my 1990 f150, and last year I sold my 1952 Studebaker, so maybe that is why I am looking to add more toys, but I cannot explain the change of heart.  I didnt say for 100% sure that I am not selling any of my existing bikes, (Stelvio, Gold Wing, 1971 Honda CB 750 Chopper) as that is still a possibility, but I am looking at adding some too.

I do know my riding style has changed (maybe because I am getting older) but carving up curves at a fast speed does not interest me at all.  More laid back enjoy the scenery type riding is now my forte!  Again, I can’t explain why but I have had a complete change of heart over the past couple of weeks or so!

Maybe I really am going nuts!   :undecided:

Merry Christmas!   :bike-037:
I endorse your "madness".  🤙🤙🤙

I refuse to buy a bike sight unseen, and because of that and the fact I am out of state for the holidays, I lost the Honda Fury to another buyer.  I knew that was a good deal.  Dang it!

That Fury is cool.  Didn't mean to buy it out from under you!

I wish!

All this time I thought those bikes were in Wisconsin for some reason.  I have driven through snowstorms twice to snag a good deal on a northern bike.

Two of the bikes are down south, and one of them is up here in Wisconsin..  I am up in Wisconsin.  Have a great Christmas!!

Understandable Bob....as I'm getting on in years I keep thinking of thinning the herd. Sell 4 bikes and just have one! Only problem I have never found the perfect bike as of yet.

Is that the same as your current one, just with newer engine, and drag bars?

Are you using chopper exchange or a forum to find these?

Bubba told me to tell you that you need another bike like you need another hole in your head.   :violent1:

so the next three I am going to look at are;
1981 CB 750 Chopped on Amen Savior frame
2017 Triumph Tiger 800 XcX
2004 Jeep Rubicon

If I was rich I would buy all three, but since that isnt the situation I will limit myself to one.  lol.  Merry Christmas.

I had that same engine in my Triumph Trophy SE.  That triple is a nice engine.  The Trophy was probably the best riding motorcycle I have ever owned as a package.  If I lived in a colder climate I would probably still own it.  Too much weather protection for me here in the south.    The Explorer will probably come close in ride if you chose more street oriented tires.

So.....after three weeks of checking out bikes, scouring the internet for bikes etc, I have been thinking long and hard about adding a bike or a jeep, or a convertible (Pontiac solstice like) etc to my stable.

Then tonight, Christmas Eve, it hit me.  Like the MEME says, 2020 is not the year to wish for everything, but it has been the kind of year to be thankful for what we have.  People losing jobs, losing their homes, losing everything, losing loved ones, all due to -.  My trying to add more toys just doesn’t seem right.  I am thankful for what I have now!!

Therefore I have changed my mind, and will keep with the current bikes I have now, and just hold off on adding any more.  Just doesnt seem like the time is right, right now. Maybe in 2021.  I will keep my eyes open for good deals then.

Merry Christmas everyone!   :bike-037:

Bob:
Have you ever driven a Solstice?  My wife wanted one of those cars so bad. She thought it could replace the old Fiero she once had. So we shopped around and we both test drove one.  Most difficult car to see out of I've ever driven.  Low roof line, tiny rear window, huge blind spots.  Then there was the "trunk" or lack there of.  We also learned if you park outside with the front sloping down hill at all, rain water runs up agains the rear glass and leaks into the "trunk"compartment, such as it is.  The one we drove had about 3 inches of standing water in it!  So if you get one, don't leave it outside for any length of time.  Don't want to burst your bubble, but the one test drive was enough to put us off.

You are not bursting my bubble.  Thats great feedback on the car.  Thank You.  Happy Holidays

There ain't no blind spots with the top down.  LOL!  I owned one for 20,000 miles and had a blast with it.  I never had an issue with the blind spots.  I never parallel park, and if I needed to change lanes I made sure I passed the car beside me before moving over.

You want to talk about blind spots.  My truck with cap on the back with all the windows blacked out means I rely solely on my side mirrors.  It is just something you get used to and learn to compensate for.

Yes, putting the top up and down is a dance around the car, and yes, only room for two 10" x 24" gym bags with the top down.

If I had bought a GXP instead of an NA I would still have it.  I needed a truck, so it had to go.

The water issue was the owners fault.  The top is set up so that if water finds a way in, it runs down a "funnel" in the top and through a hole to under the car.
