Point being that range only matters if you don't have enough to get to the next gas station.
With a larger range, I'm still racing while you are in the pits filling your tank.In other words, with a larger range, you can spend less time at gas stations for a given number of miles traveled.Or think of it getting you there quicker without higher risk of speeding tickets.
You know, I make the effort the lay down good threads. I don’t get credit for it, but I am one of the most prolific thread generators of interesting threads on this site. Yet people still don’t bother to pay attention to the thread topic! I didn’t ask when you like to gas up, or when your dam idiot light flicks on, I said how far on a tank of gas??? The rest, I don’t care about, start your own dam thread!

Yes, we all have opinions. Modern Guzzi tanks hold from 4gallons on up to close to 7? I'm happy with a range of 170-210 with my v9.
Right at 200 miles as I found out this past summer. I ran out at 200. I was riding with a couple of friends when the light came on. When it comes on I usually have to add 3.7 gals to fill it back up. On this trip the light came on I did the math in my head and I should be able to make it to the next town with about 20 miles to spare considering how much the tank was supposed to hold. This was as I was passing a station. Well I ran dry a couple of miles short. One of my buddies brought me a 16 oz water bottle of fuel to make to the next town where I filled the tank. It took 4.7 gals to fill it. I still haven't figured this one out, the tank is supposed to hold 5.4 gals. 5.4 Gals at 40 mpg comes to 214 miles so something was wrong with my math or methods. Maybe the pump was wrong, not. I am a retired weights and measures official and when dispensers go out of tolerance it is usually in favor of the customer. The take away is make sure I get gas before 200 miles. This was on my 1400 Audace. I once had a R75/5 with the 6.3 gal tank, 300 miles easy.kk
