The rest, I don’t care about, start your own dam thread!................... .   Beaver dam? Hoover dam? What I want to know is where's the damn bait?

When my low fuel light comes on, it will hold +/- 5 gallons, that is when I start looking for fuel, unless I am out in the boonies.
If I am running at highway speeds that's about 225 miles
if around town its about 170 miles.

On my V9 Bobber I consider my max miles to be 175. At close to that milage I start looking to fill up. This rule of thumb dose not come into play unless I am riding with a group and the days route calls for extra miles for the ride. On most of my solo day rides I average around 150 miles. I always fill up at a nearby station to home when I get back. Plenty satisfied with the capacity on the bike.

I have ran out twice at 175 miles with my 2002 Stone.

Earl
That’s interesting Earl. I also have an 02 Stone. With a complete tune up and beetle map when I got it, on the road a get a solid average of no less than 50 MPG which, if my math is accurate🤔 should render around 250 miles on the Stones tank? It sounds like you are getting hurt on your fuel mileage for some reason???

Jeez, I hope someone does..!
I like dams, especially big ones like the Hoover..
Or did you mean damn threads ?
Oh, BTW Chad.
If you were bored enough to count up the reads on your posts, I don’t think you’d be #1.

I have a book titled "Hetch Hetchy and It's Dam Railroad". It's a great book.

Generally max I go on a full tank:
220-230 miles Stornello
150-160 miles Convert
130-140 miles Griso
175-180 miles 1200 Sport
100-120 miles XS1100
I've gone further on all, but the best was my C10 Concours could eek out 300 miles.

I normally carry a 1 liter bottle of fuel just in case. Only need it when I don't have it....

My  V7 Stornello went 430 km and on one tank . 18.5 L to fill after that ride. The book says  21 litre but  it's more like 20 litre useable on the V7s. That was on original 796 map . Heading down south next week  for the Burt Munro Rally
so will see how Beetles map compares.

Me too.  Going down with a guy from Auckland, meeting up at Christchurch.  Breaking the trip at Cromwell as he is still recovering from a major accident, otherwise I would do the trip in one go.

Predicted rain for the two days we are on the road.

I get 250 miles on the Breva tank (yup, she's in miles).

Fair enough, I don’t doubt you.
Must be about a railroad that leads to a dam.

My Breva 750 was the same would fill  at 220 miles . Very sweet running engine and didn't need the long warm up the Mk2 V7 seems to need better with the new map though .
Thinking of pulling the pin on ride south this  next week as the west coast looks very wet and east coast not much better . Will do a west coast ride later in Feb unless things improve a lot .Seeing a few bikes coming through town making a run for Invercargill while the weather holds no doubt .

An easy 450 miles with this tank.
I went from Wonder Lake, IL to Northfield, MN without stopping once.

Shit loads.  5 gallon tank (proper gallons).  twice ive rolled into the petrol station with nothing about burning reserve.  Brilliant feeling untill you have to fill up an empty tank at £7 GBP a gallon,  ouch. Serious range.  I hate filling up, makes most tourers look pathetic.

Must be about a railroad that leads to a dam.

It's about the railroad built in Hetch Hetchy valley used to construct the dam that supplies water to San Francisco. It was a huge engineering feat... the dam and water pipeline that is 200 miles long. When the dam was completed they just filled it with water and left the tracks there. Some say it was as beautiful as Yosemite Valley (Hetch Hetchy is about 15 miles north of Yosemite Valley) and there have been suggestions to reclaim the valley which is pure insanity as the reservoiur supplies water to tens of millions of people.

I've ridden there on the Stelvio and didn't run out of gas.

I go dry at 250 miles on the T and 230 miles on the Mille. Both bikes hit reserve halfway, at about 120 miles.

In theory that's beyond my bladder capacity but I've done 200 miles at a stretch.

I really don't know, I have never ran out of gas. If I push the Norge on a good day I can go 225 miles before filling up. At this point I think I have about 1 gallon left.
My trip mileage usually is 47mpg but not always.
6 gallon tank that I fill while on the side stand.
I am not sure how much more gas I could get in the tank if I filled up on the center stand.
