Has anyone adapted the Samsonite TriBar suitcases to a Tonti?

I like those old Samsonite "tribar" suitcase bags, as they are hardsides, large but tucked in, and removeable.  (see attached pix)
There were a few bikes for which Samsonite had special brackets, but I think only Honda and Suzuki?  Don't know where to find info on them these days, although those bags are still floating around.

Has anyone ever adapted a set of these to a Tonti frame?  I'd hate to have to re-invent the wheel on this, so appreciate any suggestions/ideas.

I adapted a set to a couple of Harleys in the past, and matter of fact sent one Harley to Europe and toured up into Finland and down to Switzerland a couple of summers (1977/78).
Very convenient to use.

They were offered as an option from Guzzi or maybe the importer at one point. Mounts might be available in the usual places, the E auction sight for example etc, etc.

I have them on the '76 Convert, installed by a previous owner.



Your photo of the mounts are different than the ones on my 'Vert unless I am not seeing all of the bits that you have so I do not know how you will adapt them. 

Mine are mounted securely on the top shock bolt, the lower "Not gonna crash bar" and the upper / rear is sadly attached with a hose clamp on the rear/ upper frame, kid you not.  Hey, two outta three ain't bad.   
They are Very firm and secure. 

I'm sure that I could get rid of the clamp, flatten out the end of the top/rear mount bar and drill a hole to mount on the end of the frame but I am not going to.



Do you have the locks as well...?

There's always a way to make things fit.
But, just saw some Hondaline detachable suitcases also.  They appear similar, but also appear larger and maybe boxier.  Might check into those, altho' I think the Samsonites were more "universal", while the Hondalines were specifically for Hondas (Goldwings?).

Correct, all the hondaline  luggage hardware are specific to each model of bike👍

I also need those rear crashbars.  It's inevitable that the bike lays down (it does it on it's own, ya know), and per the bags shown on Ebay, many of them have cracks specifically due to laydowns.

As a general naive question..., would rear guards from Loop frames fit a Tonti frame?
Looking for both front and rear crash guards.

Loop crashbars will not fit a Tonti and vice versa (not properly anyway). Rear crashbars from a Convert will require some changes to work on a Mille GT.
