From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉 Hawaii.

I wonder why they didn't have Andy Kaufman play that part in the sketch.

Was he part of the Not Ready for Prime Time Players ensemble?  This was in 1975.  Don't know.  John Belushi had great physical comedic skills.

SNL ebbs and flows , Kate McKinnon might be the most talented cast member ever , she can sing , dance , and become almost anyone . Some of the early stuff was very funny , some of it wasn't , like most any show it all depends on the writers .

The after parties from the early days were by all accounts really epic .

Mary and I still watch, have since the beginning, it’s our weekly date. Sometimes good, sometimes only OK ,sometime wish I would have gone to bed instead. But occasionally the great moment happens.  Often I’m reminded of a saying comparing listening to music and eating candy. When eating candy...First thing you do is get rid of the wrapper.

Most seems to be based upon pop culture that I have no knowledge of and not really interested in. I do DVR it every week, watch occasionally and fast foreword through most. I've not seen a musical guest I'm interested in listening to for a long time. Most of it just seems weird to me.

We just got old John , SNL has always been based on pop culture , we just knew what it was in 1975

Well , and by all accounts the cast and crew had better drugs back then

I guess you're right, killer bees and landsharks and Rosanne Rosanadana were all the rage back then. Not to mention a performance by Leon Redbone ................wit hout my walkin' stick, I'd go insane............. ...

SNL was and is pop culture . You don't think our parents would have found Belushi all that funny do you ?

I do agree , the musical acts are kinda weird now , but that has been true for 30 years , except for that Lady Gaga person , odd maybe , but the girl can sing . Most new acts bore me , auto tune should be against the law , and if you can play that funky music white boy , why do you need 15 dancers on stage with you .

I agree about the dancers, that does nothing for me at all. And yea, autotune? nope. However my dear old Mum did stay up and watch with us. She was a pretty cool preachers wife  :thumb:
