Benelli
« on: April 03, 2021, 12:21:48 AM »
Anyone know anything about the newer Benelli motorcycles? Looking at a  2016 600BN GTS. Supposed to be 83hp with a 550km fuel range. Anyone ridden one and knows how they ride? I had a 750 Breva 48hp was a bit of a drag on a long ride trying to keep up with the 1000+ crowd.

I only ever was interested in their 'Imperiale 400'.
I did quite a lot of research on it and looks like it's quite ok for the price.

A lot Benellis around here. Rode next to a TRK 502 X for a long stretch two days ago.
Looked nice, sounded a little sterile maybe (but ok, many do next to a Guzzi...).

Hope someone who has actual experience with the 600BN GTS can give advice too.

Cheers,
D.

I own a TNT 300 and have been totally happy with it. All the new Benelli's are a lot of bike for the money, and are put together quite well.

Might go have a look at it, seems good for the price.  Not the one but only pic I had.

After owning Guzzis the thought of shim under bucket is not appealing.

The one pictured is the model but not the one I would be buying. 2016 600BN GTS.

You have two different models in your designation. The BN600 is the naked bike I posted above, the "GTS" is the TNT 600 GTS.

The beauty of both the 300 and 600 Benelli's is that they're a bit bigger than their competitive counterparts. For example, when the TNT 300 was compared to a comparable KTM,  the Benelli wasn't deemed not quite as crisp since it was just a little heavier and a bit bigger physically. Which turns out was fine for me -- because I'm out there using it in the real world, and I'm 6' 4".

Here's what was said with the 300: "Swinging a leg over brings to light the chunky dimensions of the throaty diva. It has a kerb weight which is the heaviest in its segment (by a couple of pounds compared to the Duke 390) ..."

And when it came to the 600: "The TnT holds its line well, as it should with a 58.3-inch wheeelbase, which is significantly longer than other models in this segment."

Which is all well and good to me, because I certainly don't use mine on a racetrack. Again, on nice two-lane twisty roads out in the real world. Again, I have a 300...and will probably end up with a 600, sooner or later.

A friend of mine is a U.S. dealer and would give you the straight poop.  You can try email but you would probably do better calling.  His name is Jeff and you can tell him you got his name from George Westbury.
