Since none of my family were gathering for Easter, I went for a little ride up into PA. Had a nice ride, despite a rather enthusiastic breeze from the west. Very little traffic on all the fun roads. 275 miles.
Welty's Mill Bridge, near Waynesboro.
Pine Grove Furnace State Park.
Okay...
Laughlin Mill, Newville, PA.
View east from Waggoner's Gap. Hard to shoot through a chain link fence.
From whence I came...
...and where I'm headed.
Probably familiar to some of you.
Old (Pennsylvania?) railroad depot in Mifflin. I usually shoot it from the south side of the tracks, thought I'd get a better look from the north.
Lewistown Junction. Another old Pennsylvania RR depot. Now an Amtrak station.
Speaking of which...
Norfolk Southern eastbound intermodal coming through.
It really is a nice old depot.
Another NS eastbound intermodal a few minutes later.
Somewhere south of Lewistown on PA103. 103 is a delightful road - it follows the Juniata River for almost the entire length.
Another old station I usually shoot from the front, this time from the back. Orbisonia Station on the East Broad Top RR.
Roundhouse off in the distance. B&B off to the right.
Southern face of the station. The EBT Foundation has really been busy upgrading track and facilities. New bathrooms, enlarging the parking area, rebuilding the yard tracks and lot more. Can't wait until they're back to steam power.
