V7Sport Motor #s
« on: July 28, 2021, 08:26:53 AM »
I had a chance to have a long conversation w/"Mr. V7 Sport" Lynn Crowley at Mid Ohio. I learned a lot, but one thing I should have written down & has slipped my mind is the two letter prefix to identify a genuine V7 Sport motor block. I have one that might be right, but need a means to be sure. I'm going to be scrapping a bunch of the old blocks I've accumulated & don't want to send a rarity like the V7 off the be melted & recycled.
Thanks,
ronkom

Prefix VK

I am glad to hear Mr. V7 Sport is still out and about.  He was circling my V7 Sport but somehow I managed to snag it before him.  He pretty much has the market cornered.

And early Lemans are VE.  Don't melt those down either.

Ah well, no gems in the line of old motor blocks, 4 loops: 3040, 3467, 13885, & P061902. 5 Tontis: VC*091276*, *VC094578*, D*100218*, D*100247, D*101994*

the loop motor # P061902 is the original motor from my Police Eldo. At the time of the first resto I had an earlier gear drive timing (as opposed to the timing chain in the stock motor), motor that was in much better over-all shape, so that's what in the bike. I'll be keeping the 61902 motor to go w/the bike if I ever decide to part w/it.
