I never had the heads on my CX ported when it went from 30’s to 36mm carbs, and it’s always run perfectly fine and it’s been that way for at least 10 plus years and now that it needs a valve job I’m not going to bother with that expense of porting the heads.

After talking to Mark @ Guzzi Classics and riding my 850T around Monterey during the last AHRMA races I'm realizing maybe hot rodding the engine isn't necessary- they have so much character.
Still fiddling with different carbs, though.

I will say that a lightened flywheel is nice, if only for the better shifting. It’s kind of a detractor from the guzzi thing though…

When I had my gearbox off to fix a leak I actually put a Le Mans flywheel in. All that work, I had to at least make that change.
