Never understood how this song ended up on Christmas Playlists
« on: December 23, 2021, 11:41:25 AM »
"Baby, its cold outside" was first recorded in the Musical "Neptune's Daughter"

A lot of outdoor scenes in short sleeves and bikinis.  Funny movie though if you haven't seen it.

Well, the debate over whether the song is about rape has become a holiday tradition!

I'm a woman, and I've always loved this song.  Rod Stewart and Dolly Parton's version is my favorite. I never thought it insinuated date rape. The lyrics always sounded really playful and like they really like each other. I love how the roles were reversed around 2:37. That was really cute!"
From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉 Hawaii.

Don't know but given the subject, my mom, teenage mom, always liked "Jingle Bell Rock".  I love to play it to this day.  Maybe some Elvis "Blue Christmas".  Some Nat King Cole.  Brian Seltzer.  BB King.  ,

Darlene Love and Charles Brown- hope you know.   :azn:

I've got a complete playlist tomorrow.   :thumb:

Mom will like it tomorrow, Bobby Helms for sure.  The others will be nice too.

Merry Christmas  ...  this is Christmas   :bike-037:

I guess they ignore the second half where the female is taking on the role of the male in the first half.
