I love Dollar General!  The new ones actually stock fresh fruit and veggie smoothies, produce, premade salads, coconut water, etc. in addition to the staples.  They put one in less than a mile from me so now I rarely go into town.  When I am on a motorcycle ride there is always a Dollar General to stop at and get a drink, snack, and take a break.

Prices are completive with Walmart without having to walk a mile when you just need a few items.

There is a reason some of us have nice toys.  We skimp everywhere else in our lives.

My first motorcycle cost 16 times the car I was driving at the time, and 400 hours of work to pay for it.

I noticed that too until I zoomed in. My wife drives a '19 Vette Stingray. A nice one. She has handicapped thing that she throws on the dash too and a guy confronted us about her not really being handicapped if she could drive such a car. Some people just don't understand that all disabilities aren't visible to the eye.

You got me there.  I didn't zoom in and see that.

Some time ago I did, however, see a Ford GT parked in not one, but two handicapped spots, and that car did not have a placard.  That instance probably led me to jump to an unwarranted conclusion.

This small farm town has two retail stores One is a Dollar General. It has quite a bit of canned and frozen food. There’s a small community of Latino farm workers so the store Has their food choices also. The other store is a Mennonite owned small supermarket…No Ferraris or Corvettes around here, just 3/4 pu trucks …

Dollar General is actually owned by Walmart. They put them up in all the small towns in my area.

My riding buddy and I had stopped at a dollar store out in the middle of nowhere to buy something. His comment was he had always wanted to open a Two Dollar store. It was for the people with a little bit more class. My comment was something about like, "Yeah, and here we stand."

Look at the brand. Obviously entitled.

How does owning a Ferrari make someone entitled?

There is a handicap placard on the dash.

My retired boss was in a bad motorcycle wreck and has a handicap motorcycle plate on his current bike.  He has no problem riding it.  Just a problem walking.  Does the fact that his bike is a CVO Harley Davidson make him entitled?

I always find it interesting that when someone drives by in a Porsche Carrera someone makes a comment about it, but no ones says anything about the SUVs or Trucks that cost almost as much.  Green eyed monster is alive and well.

Kind of interesting that the price tags in Dollar General are identical to those in Wal-Mart stores. Must be pretty rich investors to open probably thousands of these stores across the nation. I am sure Wal-Mart has that kind of clout.

I stand corrected. Thanks for the link. There is a bunch of misinformation out there and I got caught up in some of it. Can't check everything.

The definition of privileged must be different north of the border.

Well said

Years ago I drove my BMW to a meeting with a small town council for a new recreation facility. One of the councillors actually said during a meeting “where obviously paying you too much to be driving that car”. The ‘car’ was three years old at the time. I responded that it must be nice to be driving a Ford King Ranch dually that cost more new than the Beemer. He was some pissed and shot back ‘I earned it working hard all life’. As if no one else can claim that honest work and long hours can be deserving.
