Collection of interesting Guzzi reviews
« on: March 19, 2022, 04:43:27 PM »
Shawn, who does these reviews seems like a very likable dude.  I like his reviews for there funny, semi irreverent take, and the fact that he doesn't take things to seriously.

Well, from the lack of response here, maybe I’m the only who thinks so.

Well, from the lack of response here, maybe I’m the only who thinks so.

The thing for me with regards to Millennial Youtube presenters is they mostly seem geared to firing (and I mean firing) superficial information at a rapid speed to other Millennials with a short attention span. So it's very basic superficial information delivered at a rapid fire pace with no critical analysis. I do like Ryan at Fortnine having said all that and quite a few other very good educational youtubers like, This old Tony for machine shop stuff and Gregs Airplanes and automobiles for aviation things. Not this guy I'm afraid. Others may disagree.

Ciao

His videos are just OK.  I shy away from watching them as I always seem to come away slightly annoyed while watching.  LP is better at putting what annoys me into words than I could have done.

At best he's average and has been posted on this forum before, his imaginary best friend could feature a little less as well YMMV. Fortnine, Marlon Motorcycle reviews, Loz Blain and the Misden Flyer all run rings around this guy.

Yeah Chad, lack of responses doesn’t mean lack of views.
Most guys wait until a response is made, then respond to the response. His knowlege is a bit sketchy clearly, but I think that is no bad thing necessarily.
Because he does not have the armoury to fire volleys of well rehearsed (and often wrong) theories on how and why a given machine could/should be better, instead we are treated to a grass roots evaluation of the machine as it would appear to the (relatively) un initiated and how the bike will appeal to the gut and not the genitals.

This I suggest, is what the would be owner may very well be seeking.

Just like you, I like the immediacy of his impressions and his willingness to say he doesn’t know, when he doesn’t know. There is an intrinsic honesty there and I like how he is ( mostly) fluid in his operation of the controls.
He has a feeling for bikes that is refreshing.

Most “tests” that are done by knee on the deck would be racer journo’s are just a toss fest and I wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire.
This guy is....OK.
Well sourced Chad.... :thumb:

Oh BTW..
You have a bit over 100 reads and 5 responses, that is a 5%  response rate. Nothing to be sneered at.
About normal, some go as high as 20% but it’ll grow legs.

If you’re having trouble working out how to tell me I can have your V11 Sport David, I may be able to cobble a few sentences together if it will help...

I'm not much of a vlogger watcher. He is definitely an enthusiast, and I appreciate his positive and honest approach, with little of the typical snark and baloney you get with Fortnine. Good to see a dealer giving a cross section of introductory videos for more than just what they sell.  The 'devotional' is pretty cool and unique.  I imagine that people who watch him are looking for introductory videos and impressions on bikes.  Great that he is spending time looking at Guzzi's. They are such a small slice of the MC world. I dont dislike his videos, but they lack the depth of knowledge that would make me subscribe. I do like seeing the PA countryside.
