There’s a reason they moved away from the featherbed frame.  The vibration was a killer.  As much as I love the Commando with the same motor, I can’t warm up to the Atlas.  I do hope the seller gets a good price.

The next owner will find out soon enough if his/her fillings are solid!

Pretty bike but one heck of a paint shaker.

The Atlas is fun to look at and think back on but that's about it unless a guy likes vintage grenades.

I worked in a British bike shop in Mount Vernon, NY in the early '60s and while these were easy bikes to service and repair, somehow I never wanted to ride one after the first time.  I'd had a '55 Dominator 500 twin (Featherbed) which was very smooth, and the 600s were pretty nice, but as the displacement grew, so did the vibrations.  I could not have imagined what my later Commando 850s would have felt like were it not for Bob Trigg's clever Isolastic engine mounts.

Yes...correct on the Ariel Arrow....The Norton's are from the mid-40's to early-50's, as is the AJS...The Triumph T160 is from about 1975...That BSA is from about 1967...(IMHO)

Guess sometimes these Bring a Trailer deals seem a little too good to be true.
