Beating a dead horse regarding windshield brackets
« on: May 04, 2022, 10:55:13 AM »
I’m a little hesitant to even bring this issue up again as I have addressed it a couple times already but here we go

I have an 02 Stone that came to me with the large barn door shield, thus the longer brackets.
I really do not favor this shield and prefer using the “police style” shorter shield.
I have had this shield with two other Guzzi’s of this type, 04 EV and a CalVin, and with the added HD fork mounted wind deflectors, find this setup much a better all around wind and elements protection.
I know there are at least 20+ years of several guzzi production models that utilized the same mounts and for the life of me cannot understand why it’s so difficult finding a set and someone willing to sell them.
So please if anyone members may have a set lying around and would be willing to part with them, shoot me a PM.
Thanks

Sorry, bud. I wound up having to use mine as standoffs for my spots, in order to make them clear the fairing. Otherwise, I was gonna send them to you. Have you considered getting dimensions and seeing if a local fab shop can make you something?

No problem, totally understandable 👍

I really don’t have access to that type of fabrication and if would be very detailed and expensive.
As many years and different models of MG used this same brackets it’s mind boggling that there does not seem to be any available🤔
Maybe hoarders have all of them😂😂😂

Try Moto Guzzi Classics. He has brackets for EV's, not sure if they all fit the small police/tombstone stye shield. The shields with brackets I saw there yesterday may have been sold, you need to call and ask. They are dirty looking and not pristine. I think they would clean up well.

Hmmmm. I have an idea. I've been a metal fabricator by trade for most of my career. This could be a fun and interesting project for me. I don't have access to a mill, so they'd be made out of flat stock with several pieces being cut, shaped, and welded, but I'm sure I could make some for you for very little cost. They wouldn't be chromed, but I can guarantee quality and structural soundness. We'd need to find someone who has a set to send me detailed measurements. Let me know if you're interested.

That would be great but for months now I’ve had no luck finding a set period:(

Is this what you are looking for?  The brackets bolt to the upper and lower triple clamps.

Hi Danny
Check the pictures I sent and see if these early brackets will work for you.

Yes. They do not offer the mounting brackets for my 02 Stone.
Thanks for the response 👍

As far as I can tell they stopped making everything for the Guzzi's. I called up a year or so ago looking for a replacement sheld for my 92 stone with the small sporty sheld. Its too bad, they were a nice setup. Glad to hear you found what you needed!

When I bought my 2020 Eldorado 1400, there were no windshield "kits" available.  I had to purchase the piece parts off of the fiche.  THAT hurt.

As far as I know - the "kits" are out of production.

From what I’ve learned during my attempts to find the hardware for the Stone, there are no after market parts of this type for the Moto Guzzi brand.
However the company “CLEARVIEW” does offer the replacement shields in two sizes for most all the older and new models. I was able to get the taller and wider shields for my 2015 1400 tourer and the 07 Calvin.

Thanks for all the replies 👍
