This one really hurts. My wife, Gail, aka Cookie, lost a 5-year struggle with cancer in early May.
We were married 22 years. Motorbike traveling cohorts for 24.
Never a pilot always a passenger; don’t you dare say she wasn’t a rider. She rode with me to Nationals in CA(2), IA(2), OR(2), WV, NM, CO & WA.
We went to Italy, TX.
We went to Luap’s thing in SW MO twice, Cedarvale twice, Mokan and Illinois.
Probably a 100 Washington, Oregon, Nevada and NorCal events.
If any of you remember a small woman from Washington, that was her.
Irreplaceable.

You were blessed to have each other! I lost my wife of 41 years 2 1/2 years ago. I can tell you that the heartache is always there but the sharpness of it does dull over time. The first year is rough. Hang in there as best you can.

Brother I am so sorry to hear this.
Grief effects everyone differently and there is no formula or timeline for a universal process.
I will tell you that the most insightful comment I received when my wife died was that; “Her absence is forever present”
It will come at you in waves and at the most unusual moments sometimes.
Embrace all of it as inherent in the pain, are the wonderful memories that are precious for the rest of your life.

This is terrible to hear. I myself live in fear of that day, it seems almost too much to bear.

It sounds like you two covered many happy miles and generated a lot of smiles. I hope & wish for you, that those wonderful memories will uplift and sustain you through the rest of your travels.

Jeez I hate these ones..
I know that all you can do is guts yourself on life’s feast and live with the hunger when it’s all gone.
Just an awful hollow time, try to fill it with the company of quality people from here or wherever you find them…

We met you and Gail at CedarVale one year. You two were a great couple and obviously best of friends.

You two lived a life together that most couples couldn't even fathom. Cherish the memories.

Ahh.. jeese, Bill. I've been looking for your address to offer consolations. I know Cookie had been fighting the big C for a while. I really have no words other than to say that I (and Dorcia) care and wish you the best. She was a good one.. Take care of yourself, now. It will be *hard* for a while, but you will be ok again in time.
