Great bike. I enjoyed my ‘14 DLX for several years before moving on. Honda didn’t import many DLX’s. I had a difficult time locating mine, but a very easy time selling it.

I bought the DLX to replace my ‘11 V7 Classic, which I couldn’t sustain a long-term relationship with. The Honda was a superior bike in every way but my specific model weighed close to 600 lbs which became a bit too much after a while. It has since been replaced with a R1200R, which is over 100 lbs lighter, more powerful, roomier, and has features that are better suited for the way I use the bike.

Indeed the R1200 series Beemers are nice as well. Had an '08 R and my buddy keeps trying to sell me on a 2014.
Glad you found one you can live with better.

Yeah air cooled 4-cylinder UJMs are not known for being light. My 2014 CB1100 standard, 6 speed with FI weighs 540 wet, but really not bad considering my old carbureted CB750 5-speed, single disc brake, was only 27 pounds less.
R1200R is a very nice standard motorcycle, and under-rated IMO.

I’ve had a lot of them and currently have a 2021 V7-850. Nice bike but selling it as it doesn’t work as a 2 up for my wife and I.

I would think not, V7's are fairly small motorcycles for 2-up. Going to use the CB1100 for 2-up or do you have another motorcycle in mind?

Using the CB for 2 up duties as we ride around town and I commute.
Maybe a weekend trip here and there.

The carrying capacity of the Guzzi is nearly 100 pounds more the the CB1100.

I have (seriously) bought, and sold five CB1100's since they first came out.  Four 2014 black models and one 2017 red model.  Beautiful works of art and top notch quality. 

Upon reflection, I think I sold them for 1) the uninspiring reaction when I twisted the throttle, 2) I hate black, and the paint on the tank scratched at a harsh word, and 3) imported in such limited numbers/years, and worry about finding a qualified mechanic *if* anything went wrong.  Now they are discontinued. 

Still have the sweet K&H Hi seat in storage "just in case".....the factory seat sucked for me.

Bought my 2013 CB1100 new and have put 20K+ trouble free miles on it...Have used it as a naked sport tourer in a couple of different configurations for trips around 1,400 miles in 4-5 days.

Excellent choice. A 6th gear came in 2014. Smooth, comfortable and plenty of usable power. I've upgraded the shocks and springs and a new seat was a must. Great all-arounder. While on the heavy side it feels nimble and handles very well. Not sportbike fast but the power is always there. Completely rock solid...turn the key and go anywhere.

Well I gotta say I am well pleased thus far after another chilly run today.

The motor will not pull your arms out but it just keeps pulling. She just howls when you are winding her out, great legs on this one.
Low speed handling is a breeze and so much lighter than the ST1300 to paddle around the garage and pull on and off the dolly etc. She tracks well at speed and the twisties too.
Everything just works well.
I filled her up so will check mileage next time.
Putting her on the center stand is easy peasy too btw.

Now I’m rethinking a windshield. It would’ve been nice to keep the air off my chest but the looks with it off are just so sweet.
I was thinking about a National Plexi 2 but am worried about buffeting if I go wth that one. I HATE BUFFETING!

The shield pictured on my bike is a National Cycle Street Shield which I really like. Once mounted and adjusted the first time it goes on and off in a minute or two. It blocks the wind off my chest, I get light wind at my arms and helmet but no buffeting. It is 16"W and 17" tall. They offer a Street Shield EX that is a little larger but not so large as a Plexifairing 2. The EX is 19W x 18" tall.

I'll also add that I had a Corbin made for this bike and it came out well IMO. I didn't care for Corbin's pleated stitching nor the incorporated backrest hardware on their standard offering for this bike, I wanted it to look more like a stock seat. In essence it moves you back about 1 1/2" and the seating surface is 2" wider and no forward slope so it's literally all day comfortable now.



Stock seat is about 9.25" wide but only at the very back.


Corbin is 11.5" wide from the step forward a few inches.

I had to cut away some of the plastic on the lowers to get it to fit, but was an easy job.
