Weather last three years for the same day of the moon cycle (first day of the first quarter) has been 30 at dawn and 50 after lunch , one out of the three had light rain (2021).

I can dress for a two hour 40 deg ride .   The 50 deg and sunny two hours back home and a nice lunch with lots of wild tales will make it all worth-while !   
Should we have a rule about :  All tales must have at least one true part in there somewhere ?   

Praying for a dry day !!

I've been watching a bunch of UK motorcycle travel videos.  I admire their stamina.  They think nothing of riding all over the place in 4° and 5° C temperatures.  Thats about 40 degrees Fahrenheit to you and me.
I've always used 55° as my limit to go out on a ride "for fun" with no destination in mind.  If it's supposed to be a nice clear day and the low 50's, I'll man up and ride, otherwise, it four wheels for me.  Of course, sometimes you are forced to ride in cold weather.  When I and a friend did our ride though the Alps back in 2019, we saw temperatures just above freezing the first day out.  Not much fun, but the rental bikes were paid for so....

Heated gloves , heated vest , long johns ,heated pants covered with a rain suit and a full face helmet w/scarf.   

I'm not sure having a windshield and hand shield would be cheating ?  But it all adds up !

Does your bike charging system handle all the electric clothing heat ok?  Which electric clothing/vests/jackets/gloves do you have?  I’m in market for some new gear fairly soon I think.

I like the gear I have.

The gloves are 12 volt and I put a plug on them to connect to the two prong battery tender outlet I've run up to between the handle bars.

The vest and pants are 5 volt and each has it own battery.   The 10,000ma phone charging battery last about 5 hours on low power. (2amp draw)
Its nice to be able to walk away without a lot of "un-plugging" , the gloves need all 12 volts being not covered.   The vest and pants can be behind a jacket/rain suit , out of the wind.

I'm on the third year using a $30. vest off ebay.   American  X-LARGE = 3X Asian .   Those batteries are cheap off ebay too.

Hay , I've tried those 5 volt battery gloves.   By time ya get the battery into the little zipper pocket ... it hard to get the glove on .
But
If ya have a USB charging port on your bike that can handle 3amps then you can pig-tail to the gloves just fine , but they still won't be as good as the 12 volt gloves.
Remember Ohm's law , wattage = voltage x amps .    so   3amps X 5volts = 15 watts .  Does a 15watt light bulb get too hot to hold ?    You can bet it does !
Heck a 24 watt 12 volt stop light bulb will burn ya really quick !   It don't take a lot of watts to stay warm.

If you are going to do anything that pulls from the bike's electrical, I recommend adding a voltmeter up on the handlebars so you can monitor voltage drop with accessories drawing.

It was a great turnout today!  Enjoyed seeing everyone and their bikes.

I went over Suck Creek Road then stopped in Cowen to put on more layers as the sun started going down.
