Wrecked my '16 V7 Racer - can't find bushing anywhere
« on: February 14, 2023, 04:52:02 PM »
I wrecked my '16 V7 Racer back in November and have been struggling to find all the parts I need. The last piece I am missing is a bushing on the rear master cylinder parts fiche (part number 886666).

I was told by the dealer I have been going through that the part is no longer in production, and the closest one I could find on ebay was overseas and pretty pricey. I would have to fork out close to $200 for a $25 part.

I don't have a problem making the part myself, but I can't find specs on it anywhere. Would anybody on here happen to have one they could get some dimensions on?

Below are a few pictures of the part I pulled from the ebay listing.

Is that the eccentric to take up the play?

Looked it up, same part all the way back to 2011, so any racer will do.

Yep - that is all it is. I really want to keep the bike as original as possible, but the way things are going with how tough it is to find parts...this bike could turn into a Frankenstein.

Fox doesn't have it in stock, Harper (who I originally ordered from) told me that MG said the part is no longer in production, and I am waiting to hear back from Cadre.

For some reason, the Teo Lamers site won't open in my office - so I will try them when I get to the house tonight.

Thanks for the replies!

Surely a friend or a shop with a lathe can make a simple offset part like that, nothing magic there.

Turns out there was one tucked away in a warehouse somewhere - Harper Moto should have it sent my way next week. But as soon as I get it, I am going to build it out in Fusion 360...just in case I need to have one made in the future.
