It Happened...I sheared the flywheel on my Convert

The arrow is not a timing mark but an assembly mark, not used for ignition timing, bolts are 30ftlbs.

I looked and did not see any marks, painted or etched , I will search again, so in the absence of that...I was going to find TDC on "S" and "D" and be sure that my flywheel corresponded. Unless there is a better way. perhaps I missed the markings, I'll search again tomorrow with a fresh mindset.

OK, put either cyl on TDC, on the back of the cyl there is a mark on the block where center is. Line up arrow to that center line on cyl you have at TC. Stick bolts in holes.
You can't use timing marks, there is no inspection hole to look through. BUT timing marks should be off to the right, horizontal to crank center.

Sorry for bumping this up again...in the light of day and with help from an led work lamp , I did find the painted mark and I did consult the workshop manual (thanks to the convert community that sent me so much great info) and I forgot about the flywheel bolts being a one use item so Im waiting for a new set to arrive from MGcycle ($10) and then Im in reassemble mode.
