V7/850 dimmer switch
« on: July 11, 2023, 08:32:52 AM »
I’m about to install the third dimmer switch on my “21”Centanario ! Any one else ? I saw an Irish persons description on repair . After 10 - 12 attempts my old hands stopped working & the spring flew into the abyss (possibly a cat toy by now ) . Thanks in advance for any help .

And I thought my ‘22’s failure was a one-off. It ejected the detent. I took it apart and installed a check ball from a grease zerk and it *kind of* worked, but I recently had the switch replaced under warranty by the dealer.

Yes seperating the switch is a delicate affair. I was very careful to ease the two tabs. Even a small amount of heat can help.  Finger nails are best as you can feel the tension. Since repairing mine I've had no further issues.

I can't think of any precaution other than possibly glueing the green nub into the spring.

If you want to fly me out I my rates are cheap - beer mainly, but none of the nats piss.
