"Auctioneer RM Sotheby's says the vehicle will require "a comprehensive restoration to return the car to the condition of its glory days", but the process promises to be "very rewarding". "

Yeah.  To the craftsmen paid to do it.

Ferrari politics means that unless Ferrari does the rebuild via their in-house Ferrari Classiche program, as far as Ferrari is concerned, it will not be a real Ferrari.   This article mentions the program and perspective- https://www.yahoo.com/autos/heres-restore-rusted-remains-1954-060506767.html

An acquaintance in England who is restoring/rebuilding an original Daytona for a customer recently earned a rebuke from Ferrari on such grounds.  Ferrari considers the cars they produced to be theirs in perpetuity.  As long as they do such rebuilds and major work, the car is still 100% a Ferrari.  If not, it’s not…

 :boozing:
“Driven by the first Ferrari driver…”

Just for perspective…furthur down the page a Ferrari sold for 32 million. (32-2=30 million available to restore…add a decade to do it and it’ll be worth 64 million ..what am I missing?

Kinda like taken a guzzi off a fence post in the desert where it’s been rotting for decades and throwing everything you got at it….Oh wait!?!?! I see now..
"I'd like to thank all my friends who have kept my Guzzi's going, but mostly...TOMB."
