Was that Joanne from NH?  My friend.
Also old riding buddy Bob Corfield was there-he won the long distance award I see.  Was with our Louisville KY friend Dan.  Used to ride a lot with those boys in WV. A TOTAL hoot.

A few photos from my side...Long trip...>1822 miles total, (even in a SS-R with a trailer!!)

Weather was great, roads were fantastic, Grant County Fairgrounds was excellent.

Super job by all the volunteers and organizers for a job well done! :thumb: :thumb:   THANK YOU!

Nice to see my old Guzzi riding buddies from NORCAL including: Pierre & Brian, Mike Sorge & Damian, Willy & Rafael, and Patrick Hayes

Our crew from Arizona, including Nolan & his wife Merry, Tom and Nancy Hetrick, Jim Robinson & his wife Debbie, Richard & Faye, Daryll ("Big Hands") and his brother, Peter and his wife from Tucson.

Pleasure to meet and drink a beer Bob Corfield from VA and his friend Dan from Kentucky, Dan Ray from Alpine TX. Tom from Hawaii, and "Pescatore" who I only met briefly while loading the bikes on Sunday.

If I forgot to mention anyone, my apologies, but the Guzzi crowd was certainly friendly and happy. :thumb: :boozing:

King, yes. Joanne.  She took a month to enjoy the sites. I'm curious what her plans are for the return.

I forgot to mention that I met Dave Richardson, the author of Guzziology.
He held a Q&A during the afternoon.  That was a nice surprise.
Journalist Nolan Woodbury (JJ's first picture) also entertained us for an hour.

I second JJ's compliments to the organizers. Thank you for all the work.
I met Richard and Gayle.
Gayle made a quilt from a bunch of Richard's Tshirts and was one of the prizes.
The organizers were all summoned to the stage during the last evening.  I could not help notice that it takes a husband/wife team to make it happen.

One more thing.  Look what I made at the fire pit.  There were other "stamps" and people branded their belts, panniers, gloves...

This was great fun to ride 1000kms each way through some amazing views and crazy winds ,( no wonder they set up those wind farms) !
Was a treat to meet everyone ( including , I think her name may have been Joanne (sp) who brought me a welcome from an old riding buddy out east, Keith, he set some rallies in New York years ago .
And thanks again to everyone who set up this rally , I can't imagine the work involved !  Peter , alias the Deerslayer of the Fossil rally in 2023 .

Seldom. This is the first for a while. There are rumors of a midwest one coming..

For some strange reason I was expecting the SS-R to be yellow.

LOL - Joanne is a good friend of Keith's and he has been following her on her cross country adventure.  I'm looking forward to seeing her at his Rally in the Aderondacs next week.  I'll be sure to mention our connection when I see her.

It was great to meet new people and see all the bikes. The food was probably some of the best for such a large crowd. Highlight for me was spending time with Frank and hearing all the stories of the MGNOC through the years. Here’s a few pics

My trusty mule carried me 5,000 miles to and from the event.

Very well done rally. Outstanding facility and amenities, lots to see and do, plus spectacular roads in every direction. Friday morning I took 395 south past Canyon City (great name) to the big switchbacks. Really happy with how my redone 1100 Sport looks and works.

It was an honor being asked to speak about my journalism career as a Moto Guzzi enthusiast.

Two or three bikes really spoke to me at this rally; Tomas Grim's V50 Monza endurance special, Gary Jenkins 'Ambarado' V950 and this touring 850 Eldorado ridden in from Iowa by the Mehmens - our neighbors at the John Day Motel. Tomas, if you're on this forum, please reach out! Would love to talk more about this bike. Thanks for the pics Mike!

A big apology for not getting together with most of you to visit.  A lot of friends showed up.  Hard to visit with everyone.  I volunteered and helped with the meals in the hall also making coffee one early morning.  Weather was perfect.  Cold for Thursday night for camping.

I was able to demo ride the new Stelvio.  Tall bike.  I rode it up to the airport and around the runway on the gravel road.  I didn't thrash it because it's not my bike.  For you tall guys, you'll like it.  I did ride the same route with the exception of the gravel road on my Cal 1400 Touring prior to riding the Stelvio.

I put on about 2500 miles RT.  Interesting campgrounds to get there.  Went up through Monument Valley and back through it to Phoenix.  Great ride.   :thumb:
From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉 Hawaii.
