I miss solo trips. It's been way too long.

Nice. I prefer solo actually. I do a fair bit with a friend who has an'85 Yamaha FJ600 four. Horsepower about the same and he rides exactly the same as me, and that is ok. Still, on your own there is nothing like finding a nice spot, haul out the coffee doings and relax and enjoy the moment.

I've done many solo trips, and trips with one or two compatible riders.

The only negative of the solo trip is when you are admiring an amazing vista and you just want to turn to the person next to you and say "amazing!", and no one is there.

I must admit, this is indeed true.

You carry the image and memory with you though.

Great article, thanks for sharing!

I've done many solo trips and love it.  I always try to avoid interstates and find something to do in each state I ride through.  I live in Lindale which is in east TX and I found a town in PA called East Texas, so I just had to go there!  When Randy Tefft held his first state rally in New Hampshire, I did a 25 state tour and logged a little over 5500 miles on my 1100 Breva.  It was great! You can meet some of the nicest people on the road.

Before I clicked on the link, I was thinking 'she's probably pretty good, but no way she has logged as many miles solo on a guzzi as Cait Maher..."

Than I clicked on a link and lo/behold who is it.  She's great. Crazy she has crossed the country so many times, usually in search of quilting fabrics  :bike-037:

I didn't read the article yet, but last I heard from her, she is looking for an antique Guzzi to ride in some Giro or some other long distance vintage ride...  If one of you guys has a Falcone or Arione or something old and well sorted- I can't imagine there is a more qualified person to make it a loaner to!

Ride on, Cait!
