Ok Valves
« on: August 08, 2024, 09:47:51 PM »
I went back from guessing at valve clearance from one crank revolution from full valve open to TDC as recommended. All valves were .003" tight.
Carb woes almost made me pull the bicycle out and paint it. But !!!
Splashing around some muriatic acid, I noticed activity around a .015" hole in the carb throat down stream of the slide. Three treatments with a syringe and the idle mix adjuster works again.
Love it. She sounds like two cylinders cut off a big block Chevy.
Next up, decarbonization and valve lapping.
